Kelticheart gets the CFS2 member of the week award in my book. Poor frame rates have plagued the FDGv2 B-17 since its release in large numbers. The natural assumption of course was that with four engines, the model was just too resource-intensive on most PCs.
Well, this is one occasion where I am THRILLED to be wrong! Testing the AI bombs .dp mod for the FDG B-17s, I immediately noticed a HUGE difference...
Frame rates are much better! I was averaging about 12-15 FPS with three or four formations of eight B-17s, but as you can see in this picture, there are 32 B-17s as well as an escort of eight Mustangs, and the FPS is holding steady at 25-28! This makes the missions much easier to fly, and the fact that you did it for Bismarck13's AI B-17s means that those should likely be greatly improved as well!
It wasn't the aircraft that was bogging down frame rates, it was the bombs!
