Fighter Jet for sale

Let me whip out my check book. Just don't try cashing the check.

It would be cool.

Most warbirds are affordable to purchase, but the upkeep and operating expenses are what eats the budget.

The trainer version would be better. Imagine taking a woman on a date in it...

"Hey, wanna go grab a $20000 hamburger together?"

i saw that fly over my house one day ( its based in stockton ca he said) and i had no clue as to what it was...now i know....lol

im between reno and stockton

You might want to budget a few dollars for type training in the bird, also. Let's see, how many of us have landed at 180-200 mph. Heck, how many of us have driven 180-200 mph?

I saw one of these (Austrian AF,iirc) displaying at a local air show many years ago. They're LOUD!!!!!
Kilo Delta,
You think one is noisy? I went to the Austrian Fomula1 Grand Prix back in 1997, and had to put up with this lot!
It was more exciting than the actual race...!
My first encounter with a Saab was back in 1974 at Farnborough, a Viggen though! By far the noisiest plane I had ever heard! Just Great! The video shows the display team in newer livery!
I hope Austria gets back to Formula1,the A1 ring is one of the best tracks I have ever visited!

What?

:d

Yeah...there was a couple of Viggen's at the same Airshow...they certainly can make the ground tremble.

I've seen flyable Migs for sale many times in the past. 2 Mig-15's, 1 Mig-17F, and 2 Mig-21's came through our FBO heading to delivery to new owners. The 15 & 17's were relatively cheap(the 50 to 75G range at the time), 21 was about $120,000.00. Spare zero time engines were dirt cheap and normally sold 3 per lot(all had poor TBO expectations). Fuel consumption on the 15 & 17 were said not to be real bad but the 21 was outrageous not unlike this Draken for sale. Average of $5000 fuel burn for every 10 minutes of flight in supersonic flight regime? Sound about like what the Mig-21 pilot once told me. Cheap jet fighters, expensive to feed & maintain them! Might be better to be to buy non-flight worthy airframes to own as static displays(in the back yard?) LOL.

Jeremy Clarkson did! He has an EE Lightning in his garden!
I bet his wife was impressed when he turned up with his new purchase...:jump:
I've also seen a Canberra in a front garden, on my way to Dover ports!
