310 Out!

Actually, that wait might not be too long. I have found and fixed the "weird external lights" issues in FSX + SP2 only, but will have to reinstall Acceleration to determine whether this fix will still work in FSX + Acceleration...

But before that, I've got to stop the "backwards windmilling" when using FSX+SP2.

Nice work :salute:

Consider that I worked on it for nearly five months out of that period (362 "billable hours")... ;)

That's still really fast...

Needs a log-in to view. Do accounts for the old Avsim forums still work? I'm not really eager to re-register.

WTG guys on the SP2 only support, which wouldn't effect me since I'm an acceleration user. Having seen first hand how much work Bill has put into this, it's great knowing he'll be able to make it work for you SP2 guys, because it's a spectacular aircraft.

Thanks for the kind words! Have you already forgotten where I live? :d

I believe I've found a cure for the FSX+SP2 only folks that will preserve all of the same external lighting "goodness" as the FSX+Accleration folks, without having to have two separate packages, and fixed the reverse windmilling of the props. IOW, a single package that will work in both "flavors..."

Of course, we'll need to get feedback from the rest of the testing team before I can call it done... <fingers-crossed-mode ON>

My Mom is up from Florida and since she doesn't drive, I've been playing Chauffeur and I was in heavy study mode for a test I took last week. I'll definitely call soon as I have some plane pics you may be interested in that I took during the Chicago Airshow staging out at KGYY. :)

But having flight tested the 310 at your place, I'm glad everyone else gets to experience it now because it's an outstanding product. It's easily one of the best piston twins currently available for FSX and it's a C310!

The old login should work. In fact, the main site and the forums use the same login and password now.

Ha! Indeed!

The light splashes came out very nicely. How many layers did you have to stack to get this kind of intensity?

Funnily enough, only four were required. Keep in mind that port/starboard LL overlap a lot when off ground, and the nosewheel "steerable" taxi light that fills in the hole inbetween the two LLs also adds a lot of illumination to the scene. ;)

Thank you :applause:

Does this include the option of lower res textures or are they still in the works?

I highly recommend that you try it without the low rez textures. It turns out that rather than helping FPS issues (of which we've had almost none) it just makes the plane look bad...

OK, do we uninstall the old first?

That's also the same number of layers per light I'm using. Seems to be kind of a standard, lol. And yes, thanks to the overlapping you'll get some really intense areas, but this makes the whole thing all the more realistic.

That's an option, but I didn't bother with any "uninstaller" since they usually create more problems than they solve unless very carefully built...

Simply install over the existing one you have, after making a backup copy of any panel modifications you might have done of course! :ernae:

I installed the service pack over the original and, for me it seems to have created problems with the AP and the ADF. Let me say first off I run Accel. and had no problems with these before. Now the AP won't show HDG when button is pressed and no ALT info either. No info is shown when you attempt to turn the rotary dials on the AP or the ADF. Would this have anything to do with the font problem?
I had already downloaded the one you provided and placed it in windows and it had cured the orig. problem.

One other thing I noticed in the original version was that fuel was not being used out of the right side main tank. Both selectors were in main for their respective tanks but after about 30 minutes in the air I noticed having to hold in more and more left aileron. When I checked the fuel gauges the left main was down but the right was still on full. On the next flight I simply moved the sectors to aux and back to main on both sides before takeoff and after flying around awhile I checked and fuel was being drawn equally from both tanks.....haven't tried it yet with this version though.

I guess we'll soon see if this happens to others, thanks for all your help so far, good luck.

Steve

Did another flight and it seems that the AP is functioning as far as controlling the plane. Seems like it's a display problem, I don't see the readouts for altitude or VS number wise. Also again no readout on the ADF at all.

On the fuel problem I may have isolated the problem. I took off as above with both selectors set correctly. AFter awhile I check and sure enough the right main was not emptying. The left main had used about 40 lbs. of fuel. I moved the right engine selector to aux and back to main and flew on for about 10 min. and still no fuel being drawn from the right. I moved the left engine selector from main to aux and back to main and flew another few minutes and magically the right main tank started emptying. Weird. Just as another check and to equalize the tanks I switched the left engine over to the right tank so both engines were emptying it. The left main stopped emptying and the right main started going down faster just as you would expect. So seems like it's the left engine selector that's causing it for me. Hope I explained this and it helps you.

Oh Man,

I got the update an now my radios don't work. The 330 display will not show along with the other radios. They are all black now. Funny because the 330 goes through it's start routine but then goes black. So now what? :(
