HELP !!!! Olivia Newton John totally destroys my computer !!!!!

.......so, I check out Navy Chief's Olivia Newton John thread.....and I'm wondering how she looks these days.

So, I Google pics of her and the first one I click on..........:pop4:........there's a split second of a yellow warning notice, then everything goes dark. Nothing is working. After a few minutes I unplug, wait a bit, then plug back in and power it up.

Start up repair: unable to repair
System restore: no earlier points found ( I know they're there).

Have I lost everything ????

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated !!!

LD

She happens to be one of those celebs who attract nasty computer bugs.

I know I am no help :(

Good Luck getting back up.

I went ahead and ordered another computer.................

AMD Phenom 2.6GHZ

64bit 6-Core processor

8 GB DDR3

1 TB Hard Drive

1 GB ATI HD5570..........

(a combo deal with a 27" monitor)

Maybe now I'll be able to fly FSX without the stutters ??

I didn't do it!!! Seriously though, I am so sorry you are having to deal with this!! I have never heard of a virus from a Youtube video, but I suppose anything is possible. I watched both videos in their entirety, with no problems on mine. Wish I could be of more help, shipmate. Pete

Chief, it looks like he got nailed by something he googled after watching the vids.
It wasn't you :salute:

It's a damn' good story, oh fortunate canine...I'd stick to it!
What was the URL of that site again? :d

Naw, Pete.......it wasn't the Youtubes.....it was later on. I'd forgotten just how dangerous some of the celeb sites are. My Bad !!!

Thankfully, I'd backed up all of my photography and most of my FS9 and FSX files on an external hard-drive.

Its gonna be tough just using this little net-book for the next 3 days !!!!

I've never heard or seen a virus destroy a computer. If anything if ya couldn't get it off your hard drive just replace the hard drive.

I think I recently heard that celebrity photo sites are now the leading sites at which you are likely to get a computer virus.

LD,
If you happen to get through Chattanooga, TN anytime in the near future, bring me the tower that died. I'd be happy to take a look at it for you, it never hurts to have an extra 'puter around, just in case.

If you don't want to repair it, just send it to me I can use the parts for some of the computers I build for those that aren't as fortunate. I've got 3 right now that I am taking to the church to give to different families in need. I can always use more parts as I don't charge for the service.

sounds like it was a darned good excuse to buy that well wanted new puter to run FSX...........:a1310:

It certainly helped Daveroo.........

I think Windows Vista was the target. The computer will turn on..... but thats it. A big, deep black hole...

No "Safe mode"

If so, sound as bad as mine. Your looking at Restore CDs to fix it but before you you may be abe to recover things off the hard drive when your new PC shows up by take the hard drive out of the old one and seting it up as a slave drive in the new one.
