For all you Rockers out there...

I saw the title (One) and though - wait, that's not from the Bee Gees, it by Elton John. Oops, different song:

What about Cyndi Lauper's "Drove all Night" (or Roy Orbison, for you classic lovers, or Celine Dion, for you, ugh..., never mind.)

A very young Pauke! Pauke! was rolling around in the back seat of a 1967 Ford Thunderbird with a pint of Smirnoff Vodka in the fall of 1968. Cruising on Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard trying to get into either the Whiskey-A-Go-Go or the Teen-Fair and the “Battle of the Bands, on the look-out for succulent young ladies with a taste for the bizarre. I had to finally settle for the home coming football game at my local “alma mater” where I was so plastered I fell on my knees and got grass stains on my bright white “milkman pants” and scuffed up my two-tone wing-tips. Whoa! Bummer dude! Good thing the Dean of Boys didn’t see me and some “righteous” friends of mine got me into the crowd in the bleachers. These songs were playing on the 8 track stereo tape deck. Ah man, it was totally bitchen!

My little Miata is dark blue, ive affectionately called it the Bluesmobile so usually have blues, funk, soul, 60s rock..etc Being it is the bluesmobile, the most appropriate song for me to be playing while the top is down and pulling into a favorite hangout...

I do most of my listening to while flying in FS. In the truck, while I've got a factory 6 CD changer and Bose speakers, I just listen to the local classic rock station. This week inflight, there's been a lot of Pink Floyd CDs with Animals for last night's flight from central Ohio to Richmond Virginia. I keep my mp3 music on my D drive and program the Radio/CD gauge out of it. Not sure what all is on it as I've been listening to CD's lately, but I know there's Lynyrd Skynyrd Call me the Breeze, Coldplay Clocks, Verve Bittersweet Symphony, The Byrds 8 Miles High, ZZ Top Jesus just left Chicago and La Grange and Foghat Slow Ride programmed in at the present. I've been meaning to change that playlist around a bit, but have been playing CDs as I said.

One of the oldest tunes that I could associate with driving somewhere was Iron Butterfly's "In-a-gadda-da-vida" and while posting any link to the actual tune would be painful, this version cracks me up.

Can't figure where I'm at now. :) One of my favorite new songs to hear up loud while driving. This is the best version with Allison and Orianthi together.
