• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Guardrail hits Truck

Even in an SUV, you should know that you can't carry something that long. And it's not properly tagged with a red flag at the end...

(seriously though - don't the guardrails have end caps on them to keep them from doing exactly that?)

over on this side of the pond the end is dug into the ground, it'll flip you over if you drive up it but its better than that ^^ !

had some thing simular when i was a firefighter ,guy hit a guardrail and it penitrated the car and then hit the driver dead center in the chest and ran about 30 feet of the rail through him...i doubt he felt anything cept the first hit

Those pictures remind me of the time I was running through a sausage factory during a tour and was impaled by a Bratwurst. Ran around a corner and was hit right in the mouth by a steaming hot Bratwurst with spicy mustard on a sour dough bun. I still have nightmares about that!

The guy in the truck was lucky that he did not get impaled.

They are typically here as well.. Thing is, the road designs vary by state quite a bit.

The dividers between interstate directions around here have one-inch steel cables that are designed to catch an out of control vehicle and flex as they bring it to a stop. That's all well and good - as long as you don't hit the steel I-beams sunk vertically into the ground every 50 feet or so to support those cables. I'm betting those ain't gonna give very much!

Tom, they've got those around here on the multi lane highways with a median. I don't think those posts are going to give much either.
