Here are some great pictures Kasey took while test flying the Spanner Anlage Infra Red searchlight. The searchlight is currently mounted on a BF-110 "test mule" but plans are to properly mount it on a new DO17Z-10 model if we can get one built.

The BF-110 E1/U1 was also equipped with the Spanner Anlage.

The Infra Red searchlight has a maximum range of 650 feet paints the target aircraft in a red glow but there is no visible light on the attacking aircraft. The light is dim but when flown with labels off you can use your tac to get in the general area of the enemy aircraft and then "paint" them with the infra red in order to shoot them down.

The light color may change to a more UV purple/white on the finished package.

Nice!
One minor thing: The designation Bf110 X/U1 refers to the towing equipment for the Me321.
There is currently only proof for Bf110C and D being equipped with Spanner-Anlage.
It didn't have any special designation, it was just called Bf110 with Spanner-Anlage.

You mean

to properly mount it on a new DO17Z-10 model if we can get one built. [/QUOTE said:
Like this. Needs a new skin and a little remapping and a sight but.....

Ted,

That looks really good, I am sure one of the boys can do a couple of skins. Do you know which BF-110 Mathias is talking about. I don't have any pictures of the correct BF-110 only the DO-17. A BF-110 would be a great night fighter, it would be deadly against the bomber streams.

We need to request Jaycee's help, he is a master at making add ons, gun pods, special weapons etc. He has created most of the add ons for CFS3 aircraft over the last couple years, I think he might help out.

That is very doable

Holy Cow Ted, if that could be duplicated it would be fantastic.

Steve

That would not be difficult, just take some time doing. We have a very nice exterior and making the interior would take a couple of months.
