Jet-pack

Absolutely

Can't wait, well done Glenn Martin.
Wait a minute...wasn't he the guy...no, that's another Glenn Martin ;)

"Assuming the first few owners don’t die horribly, ..." lol

"Currently Martin Aircraft Company is fulfilling an order for 500 jetpacks to be used by emergency services, as well as four unnamed defense companies."... and yet...."The timeline for the productions of these jetpacks is still up in the air due to funding" . I'm confused! :)

I have seen this thing fly (hover) in person a couple years ago at Oshkosh. To call it a "jet pack" is really a stretch. It's actually ducted fans, not jets that make it fly. And it sounds like a big R/C model. Absolutely no jet sound. It's still pretty cool though. But not a true "jet pack".
In fact, after seeing it fly the first time and knowing it was ducted fan powered, my brother said that it was really truely a "Fanny Pack"!

I heard about this from an email and was looking through YouTube last night at various flight footage of it.

30 Min's flight time is not bad at all, and they have been working on perfecting the hover ability so that people can get on one and immediately start flying it.

Pretty nice rig!
