yes it does.90% of my enemy AI planes attacking pearl just fly off.they do,they just go out over the ocean,or land on the ground north of pearl.ive changed altitude,angles from which the attack,speed,everything.yet nothing works and its really starting to P*%s me off now.
 
Scruff, don't feel bad, bud. I think it takes quite awhile to master the MB. I can't remember if anyone told ya to get Cody Coyote's Handbook, but that's a handy reference to have. Now ya know why we love our "master" mission builders! Your doing the smart thing, asking the fellas who have been there. :salute::ernae:
 
FYI Scruff, Cody's three mission building tutorials are available at FlightSim.com.

Just click on the "Files" button at the top of the page. Then clcik on the "New Search". Then from the "Search only file section" menu choose "CFS2 Misc.".Then type "coyote" into the "Search for text" box. Then click "Start Search"

Cody's three files should pop right up. The Handbook is the first one listed.

Scruff, don't be discouraged. Get that MB Handbook by Cody Coyote and keep trying. I put together a mission some time ago with hordes of USN planes attacking a Japanese TF. All the US planes (torpedo and divebombers) attack the targets plotted and even their secondaries, after the primaies are sunk. On the return, Japanese land based planes attack the player's TF just as plotted bot with divebombers and torpedo planes. I've never used level bombers in any of my missions so I can't testify to their performance.

I routinely have bomber formations fly straight over the target and drop their bombs and some formations will turn as formatted and some will just keep flying in a straight line past all other WPs.
Don't know why, but stock B-24s and B-25s do it about 50% of the time. Some of my P-38s also do it from time to time.
 
Hi Scruff,

there's a file, unfortunately I am unable to find it in SOH CFS2 library right now, where, I believe Talon, offers dp files for improved AI performance.

AI behaviour has always been a pain for mission developers and a few tutorials were written on the subject and posted here by several members.

I am not at my pc at home right now to tell you the name of the file, but I am sure other SOH members will be able to point you in the right direction.

BTW, Talon is in the process of creating some fantastic Pearl Harbor Missions that cover several diferrent aspects of the attack, which should be available soon. Do whatever you want, just sayin' there's some duplicaton of effort going on here.

He'll also findout that the AI don't suck as much as he thinks. They just have to be setup right and they do their job.
