after this news...

October 7, 2010 (by Jack Giese) - Following the Israeli Government decision to select the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II as the Israel Air Force's next-generation fighter aircraft, Israeli Ministry of Defense Director General (Maj. Gen. Ret.) Udi Shani signed the Letter of Offer and Acceptance for the procurement of the F-35 aircraft in New York.

I couldn't resist and I made...

Just upload on flightsim.

Beautiful. You know, I think you could turn that into a Nellis AFB aggressor quite easily.

The IDF has the real one on order now. They will actually be the first Air Force in the world to put the F-35A into service just a short time before the USAF does. Many components will be built in both the US and Israel but the assembly of the IDF F-35's will take place in Israel at a new facility at IAI. It will also feature new cutting edge ELTA and Elbit avionics as opposed to US technology.

And my bet is on the IDF variant being the first to see combat.

In the skilled hands of IDF Pilots, I'm sure the F-35 will be successful if and when the need arises. Part of keeping peace is being prepared for war.

I forgot to say before that this repaint is stunning. Good job!

Two things I like about the Israelis. They aren't timid at pulling the trigger, and they don't give a rats patooty what anyone thinks after they do it.

True that :)....

...I'd imagine the Iranian's won't be pleased about their intro to the middle east ;)

I have to say, the Israeli Air Force has a great taste in aircraft painting, their camo can make any kind of plane look the best. :salute:

Great repaints Luigi, i installed all your works!!!
ehmmmm.. are you thinking about an Italian Navy repaint? i know this is F-35A and not B, but i think this would be a nice "what if" in the meantime... :wiggle:
cheers!!

Super nice Israeli repaint Merida.

After Italy, Israel and Australia, do you plan repaints for Canadians CF-35 ?

Its official, Canada will buy 65 Lightning II.

24 x will be located at Bagotville, Quebec ( 425 Alouette Squadron )
24 x will be located at Cold Lake, Alberta ( 409 Nighthawks Squadron )
and
17 x will also be located at Cold lake, Alberta for training purposes
( 410 Cougar Squadron )

CF-35 camo scheme and markings will certainly be close to the one actually
used for or CF-18 fleet.

Thanks in advance !

Your repaints look great. Good job.

@All
As I wrote on my blog, I've started the conversion of the F-35A into an F-35B, but I'm experiencing some difficulties (but I think I found a way out).
The texture layout will change in many areas.
