; i suck at typing when in bed

haha yeah i drive from Napa to Petaluma to work just about every day right by the turnoff for Sonoma SKypark. I flew a 172 into Sonoma few years ago, fun challenging little airport. Sonoma doesnt have much, you might try checking out Schellville which is down the road a little. Schellville used to have quite a collection of old birds tho I don't think it is what it used to be. There may be a Stearman or two still giving wine country rides. But I remember always driving by Schellville and seeing some old Ventura bombers, a DC-3, AT-6s, Stearmans..etc. If you are in the Santa Rosa area, check out the little Air Museum there, they got a few nice things.

Cheers

ive wanted to get over to santa rosa for years..a nieghbor gal i grew up with works in the courts for the county over there...im allways threatening to go take her and her husband ( his name is "rainbow" gawd those bayarea types..)to lunch and then swing by the airport.....but never do it...lol

Rainbow...haha yeah I lived in Sebastopol for a couple of years, a few Rainbows, Moonbeams...the joke there was if you wanted a date, stand on the corner with a joint.:icon_lol:

well the good news is Orbx will be doing Northern CA in about a year or so we will some beautiful wine country to fly over in FS eventually :jump: Another great little museum if you can get on base is at Travis AFB...not as extensive as Castle but still worth visiting. Try to get there on a week day as the building with lots of goodies inside is open then too. If you like transports, they have a great collection. They got a C-133 in just before Summer I think.

been to both castle and travis and saw the C133 in air classics mag and some others when she came from alaska...McClellan has a real nice museum now as well..plus aero union is now there as well as the cal fire fleet...

Hey Dave do you remember years ago when the Nut Tree had its little theme park at the Vacaville airport? I remember going there as a kid and riding on the little train they had. Shame that place closed. The airport is still there but now it is a shopping center.

What?? Sonoma used to have my favorite shop in the entire world, two of them actually. maybr three.. There was the Bangers and Pasties shop which sat back in the alley past the theater, right next to the worlds best pipe and tobacco shop. always a favorite place to hang out.. And then there was the Ladies Victorian tea house.. it was awesome.. men not allowed.. Very civilized place to visit for sure.. Sonoma is an awesome little town to visit :) :) .. sorry for going OT.
