Tempest Mk. 2 by David Hanvey and Paul Barry - ported to FSX?

I think I know the answer ... but since the model minds here are much bigger than my own ...

Has anyone been able to do this? I've tried, and get a "cannnot display model" message. Pity, since, Morton did a few delicious repaints for it ...

thanks,

dl

Well, the irony is that Daniel Garnier converted the Hanvey/Barry Tempest IV to FSX. VC is basic - but I'm more of a 2D panel guy, so that never held me back from an otherwise phenomenal airplane.

So, if the IV can be converted, I'm assuming the II can too. I know these started life as FS2002 models - but in the absence of a II, I'd be ecstatic for the exterior model to be resolved.

Thoughts?

Didn't they also have a Sea Fury? Loved that one in FS9. Flew so nicely for a warbird. Assume it cannot be ported due to the FS2002 model, but maybe not?

Exactly. Danny Garnier ported the Tempest IV, so theoretically, both the II and the SF should also. I wrote him an email - we'll see what happens ....

Hi

You should be able to get the Tempest II to show in FSX. I have just tried it (FSX and SP1 and 2). The only visual problem I noticed was the 'moving' prop texture which gives a see through effect when viewed from the front. Just take the aircraft file only to start with and place it into your airplanes folder in FSX. :)

BTW, both the Tempest II and VI were designed for FS9 (whereas the Sea Fury was designed for FS2002) and from memory used a later version of FSDS (although I may be wrong and just having another 'senior moment!).

Cheers Paul

partial success

I was using the CFS2 install, not the FS9 install. That worked - but with the standard prop disk and VC issues. VC I could happily live without - would be nice if the prop disk could get resolved. Morton's paints make it look just killer ... :)
