SOH-CM-2023
FSX has a native Boeing 737-200:ernae: I will eventually work on this one little by little as it is such a complex model (animation wise), VC will be from the default 737-800 as is the panel. This is just a heads-up to inform everyone that the model does exist.

Excellent news,euroastar350! Sorry for the mixup in the other thread....I thought that Eric's B732 and the Tinmouse were one and the same.
Really looking forward to this a/c.:jump::ernae:

By the way: I've read that the 732 model included in EC's source files package is mapped differently than the model he released ages ago.

So I recommend either reverting the texture mapping so that old repaints can be used OR changing the mapping method to the one from the TinMouse model, so that its repaints can be used.
That way, you won't have to redo all the airline liveries released over time.

OR: Just map the whole model anew with 2048*2048px textures to cut down on the amount of materials used for the model.

Just sayin'. :)

I wonder if the default B738 VC can be morphed into a B732 VC, with analogue gauges?
Just a thought. :jump:

Me and George (euroastar350) will be working together on all our future projects, so I will be helping out on the 732.

As for the 738 VC being modified, I doubt it can be done. The mapping on the panel probably doesn't allow for it. Leave it to ACES to do something like this.

It can.

Get ModelConverterX and a trail version of 3DS Max, import the 737's VC into MCX and export it in .x format. Get XPorter (a 3DS Max plugin), install it and import the VC's .x file into 3DS Max.

This what you'll get:

Granted, it doesn't look like much, BUT(!) you have the hierarchy, parts and texture mapping intact! This means all you have left to do is recreate the materials based on the already present cockpit textures from the default 737, make your modifications to the main, overhead and pedestal panels to downgrade the 'pit to 737-200 standard, recreate the animations and tag them and move everything to the correct position in relation to the 732's shorter fuselage. Then export, check and look whether you can implement any gauges (from HJG's 737 panel for example).
The result: A 732 cockpit made with as little effort as possible.

Thomas Ruth is working on the 727 at the moment, whose VC model might also be a good starting point for a 737 VC.

I'll try to get something coordinated there.

Wow, this is exciting. I still enjoy flying the EC 732 in FSX as externally it looks excellent. If a 732 cockpit comes as well, cool.

Maybe this can become an SOH Project - Team 732 ? :jump:

Doesn't sound too bad, but remember a team involves a ton of management and time to manage is time that can be spent just doing stuff.

Let Euroastar finish up the external model and we'll see what happens.

If you are going to be doing some additional liveries for this bird, I have a suggestion:

Piedmont Airlines started out 20 minutes from where I live, in Winston-Salem. Now, they fly Dash-8's for US Airways...I would be extra-thrilled with this release if this was in it.

Thanks.

P.S. Really looking forward to this one...always have like the -200 more than the later ones. :jump:

Thats a breach of the Microsoft EULA surely.
