Can you even fly it?

From what it sounds like it certainly doesn't seem so..........

I'll just wait until the 9.99 Euro sale.

I don't think it would be too clever to clearly state it's not going to be in the sale and then include it, either.

That would be tantamount to defrauding those people who buy it now at full price, on the assumption they will not be able to get it any cheaper in a few weeks time.

As for the demo, its good that you can have a close look round the model before deciding whether to buy it. I've got enough tp play with already, what with their FSX C-130 and Boeing 727 packs, but I'll certainly grab this demo, just out of interest.

Frame rate is not bad once you get it gliding about 5 FPS more hit then others-but as you dont have so much moving parts could be worse with the real one

Thanks for the tip, KD. Sjeeesshh... now what....:mix-smi:

First look at the external model : those got to be the most gorgeous looking bare metal engine nacelles and pylons i have ever come across in FS. Period.

First look at the internal model : that's got to be the most gorgeous looking airliner VC i have ever come across in FS. Period.

That's two periods à 25 Euro a pop.... but i'll get the systems and all the trimmings and flying for free....

Do i want this ??....YES!!! Do i need this ?? OH,YEAH !!!

Well, i guess as opposed to many others i have been a CS fan ever since their first freeware L-39 offering. Their first 707 iteration, while extremely beautiful, was plagued with a lot of problems in the flightmodel department but seeing this demo i just can't help giving it another go.

There goes a delightful dinner for two at my local Chinese restaurant. Well, sod it, i've got some pea soup left from yesterday !

cheers,
jan

The installer sucks big time. You can't extract the plane to a temporary location first.

Okay, it's the hard way then. Uniextract, go!

- Edit:

Holy heck! 164 Mbytes of textures! 505 drawcalls and 95000 polys for the exterior and 1131 drawcalls and 240000 polys for the interior! *Faints*

- Edit²:
This is worse than their 727. Geez, haven't the guys heard anything of performance optimizations?

Do you have performance issues with the 727 in-sim? It runs like butter for me.

The demo cost me 3 to 4 FPS. Absolutely inacceptible, considering that I get just 16 to 18 FPS at bigger airports.

Fortunately, Tom Ruth has the 727 series in the works. Prformance optimized and - more importantly - for free.

I virtually cannot use the CS 727 without having frame rates drop considerably, despite other complex aircraft running very well. And thats just the start of its problems........

Really? I get better-than-stock frame rates with the 727 exterior, but the interior drops me down about 7.

another viewpoint

CS products are slowly becoming more refined and I have to admit their 727 and 767 are definitely tops in terms of flying and looks - yes their is a frame impact but not a great one for me in these two models curent versions. I too purchased these two aircraft at a 9.99 sale - otherwise I would not have bought them. They are a gem in terms of performance versus price.

As for the 707 - well, I can wait a year or two I am not fussed and certainly not paying the price asked for. There seems to be an increasing trend to raise payware prices to equate to real world labour costs. For me, this is about where I got off the bus. My last purchase was the CLS MD80 which is a great aircraft to fly, but I have noticed that after a couple of weeks of intermittant flying, like all my payware aircraft - I park it up and rarely fly it as I look at another model.

This has to stop and so I have made a decision that any aircraft that costs more than US$20 is just not going to be on my hard disk anymore - unless - unless it sooo superb that it is just too hard to adhere to this new policy. Sound hypocritical? you bet - but hey, I am a realist.
