Oh-boy, I was hoping you'd say that, Huub! One of the best planes in my hangar, and Jan's paints are nifty additions! The model is the MAAM B-25 Briefing Time. . . .
.
NOTE TO JAN:
Background:
The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) operated a small fleet of B-25's for a number of years after WWII, mainly as Navigation Trainers, I believe. Then the RCAF was folded into the Canadian Armed Forces (CF). And it so-happens I was an Air Navigator for many years in the CF.
Ardent Plea:
Jan, would it be possible for you to do an RCAF paint of the MAAM-Sim jobbie? I'm thinking it should look very grungy -- like it's about a month away from a major overhaul, or the scrapper -- something you do so very, very well! (Note the sniveling-yet-sincere tone!)
If you're agreeable, I could bumble around the bazaars and see whether I can find some suitable photos, and do any other legwork you deem necessary.
Oh . . . and are the above paints going to be available in the usual spot on OZx?
Cheers, Jan.
Dougal:Is the MAAM B-25 Briefing Time available as a download anywhere? . . . .
.Something like this?

If you're up for it, Jan, a glass-nose job done in the motif of the one in the first photo (above) would be absolutely peachy! I'm fairly sure that such a configuration would remain quite prototypical for Canadian B-25's immediately after WWII.
Gottit, by gum. It took a while, and it's deviously simple: "418 SQUADRON"That shouldn't be too difficult, my only problem now is the text below 'City of Edmonton'. What does it say there? I assume that's the crest of the 418th, that's easy to find, but that text??
Dougal:
I use FSX Accel, and have no troubles with MAAM-Sim's B-25, "Briefing Time".
You get the aircraft from MAAM-Sim ( http://www.maam.org/maam_sim.html ). Go to the Store and it's just a few items down. It's a true steal at $25, and you're contributing to a good cause.
Then go to Free Stuff / Briefing Time Enhancements and the second item has replacement files for FSX.
As I said, it works a treat for me. If you have shockwave and want that lighting for the B-25, give me a PM and I'll send you my mapping.
Cheers,
Nooo, I never checked, but it's doubtful. However, for most of us mere mortals, that isn't really much of a matter.Right but ... it is not DX10 compatible, is it ??
