Back when cartoons were FUNNY!!!!! I don't ever want to grow up!

I grew up watching cartoons like Bugs Bunny, with Yosemite Sam. They were hysterically funny, and still are! Not the super hero crap that kids watch nowadays...

Anyway, one of my favorite cartoons was set in the medieval times, with Bugs and Yosemite Sam. Sam has a fire breathing dragon with a cold, and when he sneezes, he burns Sam, and in this particular case, they are in a room filled with dynamite. I laughed so hard, it hurts!!

Be sure to listen to the sound file that accompanies the picture!!

Mel Blanc provided most of the voices for those cartoons (and many others). He was the best. Irreplaceable!

For me it has to be Tom and Jerry.

But only the one`s directed by Fred Quimby.

Still make me laugh...

agree with everything, cartoons today are utter rubbish. They blame tv and consolse for lack of imagination in kids today .. but its the trash they have to watch! You just dont get stuff like tom and jerry, thunderbirds, captain scarlet, the loony toons lot, chip n dale rescue rangers (personal fav). All the stuff now is mindless drivil about how to be nice to everyone gah blow em up i say!! just make sure the explosive isnt provided by ACME and your not stood next to a cayote :icon_lol:

After all these years I still have to laugh when Tom swallows a stick of dynamite and blows off the end of his tail! :d Mel Blanc has always been one of my heroes. I doubt that he attended many cocktail parties. "Hey Mel, can you do Foghorn Leghorn for my date?"

You know, you never see these on TV anymore and if by chance you do, their cut to s@#t!
Everything is missing. Whens the last time you saw the end of the episode where Bugs and Yosemite Sam are going to shoot themselves for losing the mayoral race to a donkey!

The days when a cartoons were cartoons... Not this crap thats put out there to day.

Have some of these for your rose tinted spectacles:

I believe all he was saying is that it was not all sunshine and candy sprinkles then. Or perhaps he didn't like the Bugs Bunny war propaganda movies...

Life never IS all sunshine and candy sprinkles, regardless of the time period! Sometimes I just want to have a laugh now and then. I guess that's one reason why I don't watch regular tv anymore. I choose what I want to watch on Netflix, and that's it. My "rose colored" glasses are clean, by the way. And they fit just fine!

I've tried watching SquareBob SpongePants and it just doesn't work for me. Long live the classics!

You just don't know how refreshing it is to hear such comments from a person your age!

Hated the day that Boomerang took all the good cartoons from Cartoon Network. Some times I can find Tom and Jerry on Cartoon Network but thats about it...
