My Chief, "helping" me with the leaves.....

I got out my back pack blower, and was trying to corral some leaves in my yard. My dog Chief decided to "help".......

Ya gotta love Rotties, they all think they're still 8 weeks old. :d Cracks me up when they start jumping around and acting silly - like when they're hungry or want to go out or you're teasing them with a biscuit.

Is pretty funny that he is just sitting there and playing with the leaves. Looks like he was having a good time with himself. Hope he didn't choke on the leaf in the second pic (looks like he was yawning and it went in). Is so nice that fall is finally here.

The only reason Chief was sitting there, is because I told him to! Otherwise, he kept chasing after the end of the back pack blower!!! He loves to bite at it. So I told him to "stay" so I could take pictures!

And Tarps, you are right about the "puppy" attitude. Chief has, and will always be, like that. When I feed him in the morning, and in the evening, he jumps around like a goofy bear, and the whole house shakes!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing these pics of Chief enjoying the beauty of fall. I will have to remember to grab these pics after I get my system rebuilt....I have a number of his pics in my Aircraft Pics folder that I use for my screen saver. Chief is not a plane, but as a member of the site, he is plane related LOL!

My sis-in-law has a HUGE Rotty...nearly 200 pounds and none of it is fat. A massive dog with a heart that is even more massive. Such a well mannered, well behaved teddy bear. Boo is getting older now...nearly 8 years old now and really starting to get gray hair...but he is still a puppy at heart. The other day I got down the laser pointer thing and had him running from the living room to the kitchen and back chasing that red dot. When a 200 pound dog goes running through a house, there is no doubt about what is going on.

It's true what was said up above...all Rotties think there are still 8 weeks old. They love to play. Nice pics NavyChief!

It's so funny that you mention the laser pointer. I have one of those too, and it drives Chief crazy! I have to make sure when I turn it on that I am on a carpeted area, because Chief has a hard time getting traction on my wood floors. You have to picture in your mind a 130 pound dog, with all four legs going different directions, in an attempt to "kill" that red light. It is so hysterical!

Years ago, I bought a battery-operated toy rat. It's as big as my hand. Chief goes bonkers when I turn it on, and when he gets it, he shakes it violently, and the batteries fly out of it. Consequently, I put the rat up in storage. About six months ago, I happened upon the rat, and decided to see if Chief remembered it. Now just picture this: Chief was sleeping on his bed, oblivious to what I was doing. I had my back turned to him, and simply turned the rat on. Chief instantly was up, and by my side, and knew EXACTLY what that sound was!!!! Incredible memory!! He is so funny!!! I need to get some pictures with him and the rat....

Rottweilers have a most undeserved reputation for being mean dogs. Yes, they can be trained to be that way, and some are. But all the Rotts I have ever met have been like my Chief; big, overly friendly, and out and out big babies.

A lot of the people who meet Chief for the first time ask, "Does he bite?" I reply, "No, but he might lick you to death!"

I never knew dogs would like the laser pointers. We have one for our 2 cats, and they go ballistic whenever I bring it out. I can only imagine a 200 pound dog chasing a dot around the house. Gives new meaning to bull in a china shop. :icon_lol: I have debated getting one of those remote control rats too for some time. They look like it would be fun to let the animals play with, and give me some control over where it goes so they don't do to much damage. Animals do have incredible memories though. I myself figured it lasted maybe only a few days or so, but as you say I can bring a toy out (that was put away due to it being annoying and they would play with it through all hours of the night) and they instantly remember it. It could be weeks, or months. The reaction is always the same.

With laser pointers, our Min Pins each take a different attitude. Dinky is like "KILL IT!". Pebbles is like "what's she after? maybe I can help". With Sassy, it's "I'll not get off of my pillow and make a fool out of myself like the other two".

I have tried the lazer pointer with our two dogs...and they are like "That thing don't smell, I ain't chasing it." The cat, however, will chase it for hours....of course, cats aren't nearly as smart as dogs.
