ETO 1.40 Campaign Mission Objective - Ship Spawns

Wyld 45's thread on ship spawns reminds me:
when flying anti-ship missions using Attack in the West spawn files (Allied side), the mission objective does not always appear. The answer became apparent when checking the files called for by ship.spawns file.

Some of the ship spawn files are missing the "objective", and "points" and other entries typically needed for a campaign mission objective. Therefore you will not get the purple coded mission objective ships appearing, and cannot successfully complete the campaign mission. It is intermittent as some of the spawn files called by the ship.spawns file have the appropriate details.

All it takes is a quick cut and paste of the relevant parameters, and you are away laughing.

first time this point is raised, this is an issue, sorry.

De rien mon cher, nothing to be sorry about! I seem to be very much in the minority by continually tinkering with campaigns and not paying so much attention to the missions.

Recently I flew some ETO 1.4 Era 5 missions - incredibly immersive! Some of the screenies are great. The ETO effects are so good, one forgets how spoilt and lucky we are to have such a massive improvement on the stock install.

I flew an Era 5 mission to intercept some 262s. I started with 5 Tempests detailed to my flight, and after dealing to at least 6 Doras and three 262s, we returned with only three Tempests. On the way over the frontline a battle was raging, with large explosions from ammo boxes mixed in with the artillery batteries. Artillery was fighting an incredible duel across the frontline, it all looked compelling with the new scenery and new effects.

So thanks Led Zep and the ETO team. I am happy to make a tiny contribution by recording minor glitches to make the product keep getting better and better.
