Tragic Ending for an Elegant and Noble Lady!

How sad this is. The second 747 built has ended her life in complete destruction... :pop4:

The "Juan T. Trippe" was the very first 747 to carry passengers, and only the second one ever built. The first (prototype) is of course preserved in Seattle at the Museum of Flight.

why to a museum?? its not exactly a rare piece of machinery is it?? just go to any major airport and theres loads of em!

Actually, according to the last owners, they did have some interest from some Japanese folks, but obviously they decided to pass on it. :bump:
