Carenado Mentor

Yep. FSX native.

Despite the FAQ entry that says they don't offer upgrade prices because of the extensive reworking of the models, this looks to be 100% identical to the FS2004 version from what I've seen. Just is compiled with the FSX SDK and has all the shadowing/lighting/performance improvements from that.

But given that I bought the FS2004 version 4 years ago, I didn't mind spending the extra $20 for the reworked model.

There's a great sun-burst scheme that was my favorite for the Fs9 version. It will look great in the FsX one too:applause:

Looks like history is repeating itself, with two Mentor models being released simultaneously (the other of course being AlphaSims). The Carenado model was easily one of my all time favourite aircraft in FS9 and I'm sure the FSX model will be the same. I'm off to Carenado now :running:. Hopefully I'll be able to resist getting the AlphaSim version as well. It does look sweet, but I have to watch those pennies.

I'd like to see the pilot from the rear VC!
To the developers: is it possible?

I would LOVE to see this in EVERY aircraft, especially helicopters where I simulate SAR missions and I am the one looking out the door. Kinda throws you to look back up and realize no one is flying the chopper :isadizzy:

I can see both sides of the equation. You have a realistic-looking cockpit interior, and then you look over to see this mannequin with plastic hair sitting next to you... That can damage immersion as well.

The best solution is to let the user toggle the pilots on/off. Makes everyone happy! :mixedsmi:

Agreed, problem is, there is no option, LOL.

I guess I am just biased since my other design stuff includes figure models and they are realistic, so I can see how possible a quality model can be in the VC.
Couple of stills from some projects, everything is 3D mesh. Would love to have one of these next to me in the VC

I wish they all looked that good Michael...but then I might not ever leave the airplane:costumes: Fantasies of the Mile High Club

I hope those girls have reinforced backs!

The mentor looks good, but nothing new. I loved the FS9 version, but I'll keep my pennies this time around. The Alpha turbo keeps me happy in this department.

I wanted this because it's one of four planes I've spent significant time flying in real life. And the handling is pretty close, though FS's inability to really simulate how bumpy air affects planes flying in formation is really evident when I compare it to my Skywarriors tape. (BTW: Would love a Skywarriors blue agressor camo repaint for this. :)

Now i just need someone to make a good F-15D that I can fly from the back seat. Of course, I'd have to eat some spoiled food beforehand to get the full effect there.

Sweet. Purchased!

Note to devs: $20 is an impulse buy.

AGREED! For many it seems to be the price point where one easily opens their wallet vs. having to think about it (and explain to the Wife when she says "you spent WHAT on a FS add-on")

Umm, even if she WAS real I would guess the uh "twins" are not...
