Superb shots Roger,

I mourn my 1950's AI, and some of the CalClassic airports - but on balance, I'm thrilled to have made the switch. Good post, and nice shots - helps keep things in perspective.

cheers,

dl

Thanks guys:ernae:

Pips the Shamrock repaint is at Avsim, by the late great Leon Louis...

Hi Roger

Great pics (as usual from you) :applause:

I have spent an hour today just flying the Realair Spitfire around PNW (Orcas Island area).

Whenever I wonder where to get the next frame rate from or whether I can push just one slider up a little bit more, then I try to think back to how things used to be.

Happy memories at the time! And really not that many years ago .

Cheers

Paul

It might be worth remembering that you can still run previous versions of MS Flight Simulator as well as FSX on the same PC as long as you have the disc space. I still run FS9 and use it as much as FSX so I don't need to feel nostalgic about the planes I used to fly but can't anymore. So I don't understand the FSX vs FS9 feuding that still goes on (not in this forum obviously!)

I think Paul is going to ask FSX to marry him...lol. Next question he asks will concern the internet.

Paul, from the sounds of things you're having quite the immersion :ernae:

LOL :icon_lol:

In truth, I 'gave up' on FS around 2006 not long after FSX came out. I had been involved in aircraft releases etc for FS9 and could not find the enthusiasm to learn the new requirements of FSX. So I got on with the other things in life. It was only after having an operation last year - and basically being chair bound for a short while - that I got back into it. I think that's what has made it 'fresh' for me. Quite a lot has happened around FSX in these past few years and that has given me a new enthusiasm for it :).

BTW, I think that you need to get yourself a faster download speed............

Roger, regarding that Shamrock paint. Is that for Dirk Stucks FSX Curtis Jenny? Or an FS9 model? If it is for an FS9 model, do you know if it work with Dirk's Curtis? Cheers. :)

Yep Pips as Empeck says, it's his converted model placed into the default Fs9 Jenny so you need to be able to have access to Fs9. I had to alter the viewpoint a little but otherwise it's perfect!

Empeck's FSX conversion of the Jenny is indeed a magnificient bird, captured here in a magnificient screenshot !! :ernae:
For those who do not have FS9, the FS9 default Jenny can be downloaded from Simviation.com, in the "FSX Vintage" section :)
