Strange Flashing Issue

Wingmate

Charter Member
Has anyone ever encountered this before or knows how to fix it? My friend and I were flying in multi-player doing some formation practice, when my friend got this strange problem, the water was apparently flashing.
His tower was also a non flashing mess of multicolors.

-Wingmate,

It's probably obvious, but that looks like a seriously corrupted video image. Can you tell us what the specs are on that machine?

He has a Dell Dimension E520 with a NIVIDIA ge Force 7300 LE, 1022 mb RAM Intel 2.8GHz Duo core

That system *might* be a little too weak for FSX. It would probably handle FS9 on medium settings, barely? The RAM is too low, the graphics system is many generations old and it wouldn't surprise me to find out it was shared memory. Yes, I know what the FSX box says for system requirements. THEY LIED, big time!!:a1451:

What power supply do you have.
You need 500w at the least 600w would be best.

The system specs arent that bad really. I'd suspect video drivers first. Try reinstalling the same video card drivers, or downloading and isntalling the latest drivers that fit that specific video card. If that doesn't help, perhaps the video card itself is at fault.
