Photo Shop Version

..well I in the market to Build and paint planes...
..What version of Photo Shop is everyone is using???
...I am looking into educating my self as to what is around and what would work best.

any help would be very nice.....

I use Photoshop 7.0. I also have Paint Shop Pro 7.0, but I don't use it.

You don't need to go with Photoshop...it's expensive! You can get Paint Shop Pro, which does nearly every thing Photoshop does, for a fraction of the price.

I use Photoshop because I have been using it for many many years and know the feel of the program. Paint Shop Pro just feels odd to me.

Though I'm not a painter, I use PaintShop Pro X2 (on Maskrider's recommendation in his scenery tutorial) for scenery building and putting nose art on my planes. I guess as Obio said it depends on what you feel comfortable with. Also, as he said, PaintShop is pricey.

Hi,

Paint.Net will do the trick for free, it's by far better then most freeware alternatives and IMO gives some payware suites a run for there money. Just make sure you add the plug-ins for some really cool effects.

I have PSP Photo X2, Photoshop CS5 and CorelDraw X5, but to echo Kofschip and Leroy, Paint.net and Gimp are my favorites. IMO, you can do the same work as with the payware heavyweights, only quicker and cleaner.

I have Paint Shop Pro X2 which I do most of my work in, with Paint.Net set up as the default for DXTBmp. Paint.Net also has a lot of the additional addons. Remove white, and remove black are very useful add-ons to have.

On my home desktop computer I have two screens, main screen has PSP X2, the other screen has Paint.Net-DXTBmp, and CFS2 running in it. You do need a good computer with decent graphics capabilities.

Work gets done in PSP X2, in Paint.Net I have my picture references opened up as well as using DXTBmp for the required editing that it is capable of. Then with CFS2 I can keep a view on my progress, as well as going for a dogfight or two when I need a break.

There are lots of addons that are very useful and can save lots of time.

Also work in Layers, makes a huge difference to the work-load !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
