FS2004/FSX Pan An Sikorsky S-40. S40 was the first Pan American Airways plane to be named Clipper. A four-engine amphibian built in 1931. It carried up to 32 passengers and 5 crew with a range up to 900 miles at cruising speed of 115 mph, mostly in Caribbean service. Includes textures for NC-80V "American Clipper" with early blue and yellow trim, and NC-81V "Caribbean Clipper" with traditional black and orange trim. Created in FSDS 3.5, with virtual cockpit containing entire plane, including passenger compartment. All-new model supersedes Gmax model published in 2003. Includes eight additional internal views from 2D cockpit for FS2004, five internal camera views from VC for FSX. By George Diemer.[/SIZE]

From the same author available is the Sikorsky S-42NC Brazilian Clipper.
I posted this 2or3months ago.
This one also has a very nice VC.
Great amphibs!.

I couldn't get the model to work in FsX without changing the "sim=Sikorsky S-40 amphibian" in the FsX aircraft.cfg
Very nice even if it is a port-over!

why 3 cfg files?

the dl comes with 3 aircraft config files, vanilla, fs9 and fsx. i am guessing if we want to use it in fsx we should use the fsx config (please no laughing).(do we need to rename this file?..delete the other 2?) but the prior post listed even another problem with the fsx config (need to change the 'sim=). is there a reason for all this adjustment or was the author just trying to make it easier for a variety of FS platforms. thanks

That's strange Roger, it worked without a problem for me.

Only thing I did was add the sound from the DC2, which I think sounds better.

Bruce.

Copy the folder Sikorsky S-40 to the SimObjects\Airplanes----that`s all.
No problems here.
Michael

Followed your lead Roger, added the word amphibian in the Fsx cfg so it reads,
sim=Sikorsky S-40 amphibian I then removed the other two cfg files and renamed the fsx cfg to aircraft. All works well and a little smoother.

That's it Bruce, you've got it.:ernae:

I've added a new prop with a darker alpha if anyone wants to try it.

Hi Michael,
The FsX cfg makes the aircraft sit better in the water amongst other things but it needs an edit as per my post above.

Thank you Roger.
Hasn`t understand this,now i`ve done the changes.
Your new props are very nice.
Any sound ideas?
Michael
