Embarking on my first campaign

So I've been reading up on campaign making (Cody Coyote book is grand) and I've decided to have a crack at making my own. I was thinking about an appropriate one to do and decided that historical accuracy might be a little out of reach for me. Also I don't really want to go down the well trodden path too much

Then I thought about doing a 'what - if' campaign. So I decided on a campaign based around Operation Sea Lion getting a little bit further than it really did!

It would give plenty of scope for using lots of interesting things. For a start, the more obscure planes like Gladiators, Fulmars, Battles and Whitleys etc and the more northerly airfields (might even throw in my own attempts

Good Idea?
Does anything like this already exist?
Any Advice?

Advice? Yes, I can think of a few things.

1) For airfields, contact Achim27619 about possibly building you some blended-scenery, MaskRider style versions. (See his airfields all throughout the ETO for evidence)

2) Ask questions about any campaign and mission issues you may have. Cody Coyote's tutorial is an outstanding start, but it is not the end-all-be-all, there are other more advanced techniques that I and other mission builders have developed over time.

3) I would welcome any additional participation in the ETO...I'm back working on the Early ETO once again after a long foray in the Eastern Front, the Late Mediterranean Theatre, and the Late European Theatre.

4) The good news is that there are some top-notch aircraft available for your purposes, including fantastic Gloster Gladiators, a good Fairey Battle, a good Blackburn Skua, and a good Fairey Fulmar. One of the few areas where CFS2 is lacking is in the British light / medium bomber category. We are in desperate need of a modern, multi-lod Martin Baltimore, Handley-Page Hampden, Vickers Wellington, and an Armstrong-Whitworth Whitley.

Ian: Welcome to the ranks of CFS2 mission/campaign builders! Don't feel ashamed to ask for help or suggestions if you run into a wall. Cody's handbook is pretty all inclusive, so you should have no problems - just be patient and meticulous. I'm a PTO guy but the ETO folks like Rami should be the most help to you in a pinch. I'll keep an eye on this thread for your progress reports, :salute:

Ian,

you don' t have to ask me to use my airfields. As already stated in my readme' s you can do with them what you want. And I don' t need any credit at all.
All my stuff is public domain and I am happy if I could help the community to enjoy this sim as much as I do.
