A question about the latest London GSL stuff....

After Sander's base London package and Simonu's Thames River update, there seems to be two "conflicting" GSL London landmark packages in circulation: one by Robert John 10/09 and the other by Kelticheart 4/09. They both install the same landmarks by different filenames and can be built upon SDC's base London pack. But while Robert's pack looks great and has cool pics for the INFO folder, KH's pack looks just as good but does not have pics. However, it seems he designed it to accurately flow with Simon's Thames kit and Rhumba's mesh. I would prefer to have INFO pics for both, but that aside, which is "IT"?

And what's up with the Central London landmarks and docks GSL pack? Does it have to be exported as a *lay file and then imported back into one of the above mentioned in order to avoid gob conflicts and get all the apartments and other infrastructure to show in-game?

Bearcat,

I found that there were problems in the initial version, so when I re-uploaded the package, I ended up splitting the original .gob into four, so that should fix the issues with things not showing up. I have since learned to avoid such issues, so for this you have my apologies.

As far as the objects go, I use Sander's London objects, which were uploaded by Kelticheart. The only exception to that was that I inadvertently used the CFS2_Hampton from Robert John's package, so when I have free time I will have to correct it. I hope that clears up any questions for you. If not, you know where to find me.

Thanks for the reply maestro, but by George i think i've got it! :iidea:... I exported Robert's London GSL and the central London - docks GSL into two separate lay files and then merged them as one. I then imported the merged lay into the main GSL file via GSLedit. That got it done. Everything is well placed, with the exception of Robert's location for the Naval Academy. It's a little bit off the curve of Simon's Thames, so it sits halfway in the river. I'll fix it later. Now i can get on with the rest of the UK....:wiggle:

I've been looking for a week now, but I can't find Simonu's Thames river update. Where can I get it?
Thanks,

Look in Rami's archives here on SOH for the two following files, Mike:

Hi BC!

Nice to see you are still toying with CFS2! As Rami just replied, I use his pack with the additional CFS2_Hampton from Robert John's package.

Mine was just an adjustment to fit Sander's objects to Simonu's Thames river update, as some of them sat in the Thames water after installing Simonu's pack. Besides, the Naval Hospital needed a flatten switch to fit Rhumba's mesh.

Rami started out from my adjustments and added docks and buildings. If you want, I can send you next week, after Easter, an extra fictional mod where I covered some of the roads, which cross the Thames without interrupting at the river banks in Sander's landclass, with bridges from the stock lib, Wolfi's and Canion's ETO libs.

I sent Rami a copy and he liked them a lot, I will not upload the gobs since it's 100% fictional scenery, designed only to hide those unrealistic lines crossing the Thames.

Cheers!

Sounds good KH. At present, i'm in good shape in that region. I like what i'm seeing in the layout combo i'm using. But i don't mind taking a look at any improvements you've made.

Thanks
