Hey All,

PSS Anybody know the make and model of the longest serving aircraft in the US military?

The Chance Vought F4U Corsair--longest serving piston engine airplane in US military service (from 1942-1952).

Or is your query for a single and specific aircraft?

Maybe since this a Beaver thread.......the two U-6A (DHC2) Beavers still used by the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School might be contenders.

Hey All,

From all I can tell the US Army got it's first Beaver in March 1951 and the Beaver still in use today as Dognot notes so the Canadian Beaver is the longest serving make and model of aircraft the US Military has ever had - over 60 years and going strong.
