thought i would catch a little bit of the 500....but seems like i've seen about 10 minutes of racing and 30 minutes of commercials............................:isadizzy:

It is the 100th anniversary of the first 500, but it isn't the 100th 500, is it? Didn't they not hold it a year or a couple during one or two of the WWs?

(EDIT- 1917, 1918, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945 all were not held)

That really sucks for Hildebrand. Dang it. Turn 4 of the final lap. Oops... :icon_eek:

It is not the 100th Indy, it "is" the centennial of Indy, as the first race was in 1911.

Yes it was a good race, but I wanted the rookie to win it! If he had only let off just a smidgen in turn 4. Good for Dan Weldon and Sam Schmitt though, at least it was not Team Ganassi or Penske for a change. Although I think Dario would have been in the driver's seat were it not his bad fortune to get caught pitting green twice when the yellow came out. Ditto Danica, who still had a top ten finish, but would have done better had she also not been caught pitting green when the yellow came out. The breaks of racing. Now for the 24 hours of Charlotte, it'll have to be a clean race for me to stay up for the conclusion, FOX has a way of taking Charlotte to the midnight hour regardless and that means it will finish without me. I think I need a Chris Myers kupee doll to poke pins in too, Christ I cannot stand that smug bassick.

Hey All,

I saw a lot of it including the end. Great finish and interesting that the National Guard cars came up a bit short in both races (500 and 600). Bummer for Danica as she had a strategy that coulda worked had the circumstances been different and the tires a little tougher. Certainly outdrove all the other women and most of the men in the race.
