as far as im aware, there are five mission folders:
1936 missions
bob missions
1943 missions
1944 missions
1945 missions
the ETO era swapper will change the name of one of these folders depending on which era is selected
e.g.:
era 4 (1944) selected - '1944 missions' will be renamed 'missions'
only the missions in that folder will then be availible for use

when you download a new mission for ETO, the readme usually says which era, and therefore which folder it is intended for.

i hope this helps!

:kilroy:Superashi,

When ETO is freshly installed and/or set for Era 1, you should see these five missions folders in your ETO main game folder:

missions
bob missions
1943 missions
1944 missions
1945 missions

At this point:

Era 1 = missions
Era 2 = bob missions
Era 3 = 1943 missions
Era 4 = 1944 missions
Era 5 = 1945 missions

ETO missions need be placed where the author says to install them. The global layers and a number of other things change Era to Era. You may get a CTD or a lockup if the missions aren't placed in the proper folders.

NOTE: When you leave an Era and start on another, two of the above folders will have name changes until the game is restarted in Era 1, depending upon which Era you exited.

Example: I start the game in Era 4 (1944) and exit. The sim is now set to Era 4. At this point, missions becomes 1936 missions, and 1944 missions becomes missions.

This is why we state that ETO should be started in Era 1 and then exited, and the Spawn Selector set to 1, Stock Spawn Mode, BEFORE installing anything into ETO. It's a good idea to get into this habit when installing mission packages, because some may also come with spawns.

This helps make sure everything goes where it's supposed to go.

I hope this helps.:d

Another Question About Missions

Hi again....Grizz....you said "ETO missions need be placed where the author says to install them" what if they don't tell you where? Example is ETO Battle of the Atlantic May 1941...readme does not say where? Is May 1941 the era? I will probably have lots of questions about ETO :icon_lol:
