'Newman Fined 50k For Punching Montoya?'

Hey All

I'd tell you more but it's a secret! :bump: Do you know the secret handshake?

If so I'll comment later off to work now.

-Ed-

No one can punch Montoya either!!!!!! This is getting ridiculous, their taking all the fun out of the sport.

Maybe the NASCAR policy is now "drivers be drivers, settle your differences between yourselves, and when you do we will levy a fine and assess a penalty"?

By the way, what does NASCAR do with the penalty money? I was asked this question yesterday.

Hey All,

As I understand it all NASCAR fines go to the NASCAR Foundation - meaning charity - as per NASCAR policy.

Some have said with respect to the Childress fine that 1) charity gets $150,000, 2) Richard gets a $150,000 tax write off (so the taxpayer pays) and 3) Kyle gets punched in the face.

That makes it a WIN WIN WIN! :bump:

lol.... i dont care much for your opinions of kyle sometimes...but thats funny...my hats off...

So in the world according to EasyEd, using a car to push another out of the way is wrong but a fist in the face okay...

Hey All,

Yes absolutely a fist in the face isn't going to kill or maim somebody like setting an unattended car in motion on pit road. Yes absolutely. I'm astonished it is so hard to understand that instead of endangering other people lives and limbs you take the punch. Kyle cares far more for himself than other peoples welfare - I have zero respect for that.

i'm gonna have to call BS on this one...a fist is a weapon just like anything else. a fist can kill or maim...however Childress' fist probably wasn't going to kill or maim Busch but ...you see its all about intent. when Richard Childress put Mr. Busch in a headlock and commenced to doing his best Nolan Ryan imitaition on said Busch's head he committed a crime...technically Mr. Busch could have called the local authorities and pressed charges.

(btw Nolan's pounding of Ventura was not a crime because Ventura rushed the mound. Nolan was just defending himself.)

when Mr. Busch bumped Mr. Harvick's car out of the way at Dover his only intent was to escape the wrath of Mr. Harvick.....not a crime. whether you respect it or not Ed even if Harvick's unmanned car had crushed and killed someone it is highly unlikely Busch would have suffered any consequences because he was reacting to Harvick charging his car.

to sum up...

Childress punching Busch in the face...a crime.

Bush bumping Harvick's car...escape from a potential crime.

why do you think NASCAR spanked Childress so hard and did nothing to Busch?

by the way i somewhat admire Childress for purty much doing what he said he was going to do....paraphrazing 'if he (Busch) hits another one of my cars i'm going to take care of it'

and he did...just as someone else in another thread said...probably the best 150k he ever spent.

As stated in the other thread,
NASCAR doesn't see it this way...only you do :mixedsmi: Hence why Kyle wasn't punished as you though he should be...

Hey All,

No.

Kyle in his car was wearing a helmet there is no way Harvick is gonna hurt him - just scare him - especially since it is Kyle. But no Kyle puts other people at risk.

A car killing or maiming somebody is a serious action. You absolutely do not have the right to use any defense you want to what you think might be an an assault that hasn't even happened.

What Richard did was absolutely technically an assault in this day and age - 50 years ago it wasn't. If we go down the road of calling law enforcement for every little touch fine then I would absolutely argue that Keselowski call the authorities for vehicular assault for what carl did on track and Kevin can call law enforcement for what Kyle did on track - same reason. Blatant intent to wreck revenge - let a jury decide.

By even racing Kyle has agreed to play by NASCARs policy of "Boys have at er" - he better figure out that if he starts something the boys will have at him. Kyle's actions should be judged by the redneck standard that Richard grew up with not the literal law of today if NASCAR is gonna follow the "Boy's have at er" policy. Kyle started it and ran endangering other people with that car - there is NO justification for that kind of cowardice and reckless endangerment.

We'll just agree to disagree. Just as NASCAR and I disagree on this one - but rest assured NASCAR absolutely got it wrong. End of story.

'boys have at it'........on the track

Harvick vs. Busch.........on the track

Edwards vs. Keselowski....on the track

Childress attacking Busch.......off the track.....car owner vs. car driver....

Ed...your bias is clouding your judgement.

Hey All,

Suggest you check to see just who owned the truck Kyle was driving.

Might find it's owner against owner in the garage. That's how I see it.

You never have a right to blatantly deliberately wreck another driver - bump to get loose yes - blatant wreck - NO.
