Did Navy Chief say he was moving to Florida in May?
I have not seen him post for a while......

You out there Navy Chief??

Rick

I have seen NC around. He made at least 1 or 2 posts in the last few weeks. I just think he is probably really busy enjoying summer, and his dog Chief.

If he made it to Florida,I know he is enjoying the beaches and weather...

Thanks for the reply!

Alive and kickin'

Hey all.

Still alive and kickin'. July 7th is my departure date from here in Farner, TN. House is listed for sale, but (not surprisingly) hasn't sold yet. But am not worried. I managed to sell my 1985 Chevy truck (used it for trash runs), tear drop camper, M274 Mule, and most recently, my farm tractor.

Am going to take two of my three cats to Florida: Buster and Twist. Robert Tail (my bobtail) will go to live with my ex. He'll be quite happy there, as all of her cats already know him.

The entire experience of preparing to move has been quite cathartic. I have managed to eliminate a lot of "stuff". So much so, that I am going to have most of my belongings shipped via "U-Pack". Really cool way to move. Definitely makes the move a lot less stressful. I will, however, be towing a 4 by 8 ft U-Haul trailer, which will hold clothes, and pet stuff.

I am getting excited! Haven't flight-simmed in months. Too much to do here!

But when I get settled, I'll post some pics!

All the best, shipmates.

Good to see you again, Chief! I hate packing and moving. Haven't done it for years, and don't plan on it anytime soon! Looking forward to seeing some of those Florida pictures. You'll have plenty of simmers to visit down in that neck of the woods!

Don

I'm glad the move is working out well for you but I can't for the life of me understand why you'd want to move from the country to Florida.

Great to hear from you shipmate!

Good luck with your move!!!

If you need help I am here in Tampa-just let me know-I have a pickup...

There are several reasons which factored in my decision to move to Sanibel. Initially it was a financial one. My sister owns the house I'll be moving to, so I will no longer have a mortgage payment to deal with. Oh, I'll be contributing to expenses, etc..., but nothing like my current requirements. Then there's the peaceful, beautiful surroundings of Sanibel Island. My main mode of transportation will be my recumbent bicycle. Banking, groceries, pharmacy, doctor office....almost everything I need is within a 3 mile bike ride.

It's just too good of a deal to pass up!!!

Thanks so much for your offer, and I just may be contacting you. When my belongings arrive in Fort Myers at the U-Pack terminal, they'll be stored there for one month. At that point, if not before, I plan to move them to a mini-storage unit, as it will be much cheaper. I have a Chevy HHR Panel truck, and can haul things easy enough. But a pickup would surely decrease the amount of time needed to move things!

I'll let ya know. Thanks! Pete

Is good to see you are alive and well Pete. I didn't know you were a cyclist either? Always wanted to try a recumbent. I have been riding road bikes for a few years now, and after doing the MS 150 last October haven't done much biking since (170+ miles in 2 days will do it for ya). Either way though good luck with your move, and look forward to the photos!
