I've been using that yoke for a few years now and absolutely love it. Well worth the investment. Get the rudder pedals if you can afford it as well. I haven't regretted buying either one, as they enhance the whole experience of "flying".

I second what he said. I've had mine for about three years now, and love it. I have the yoke, 4 engine throttle quad, and pedals. Makes a whole new sim experience!

I'm on my second one. I accidently busted off the prop pitch and mixture levers on the first one. So it's worth it at twice the price if you're a goofball like me.

I broke a lever on mine also, but I ordered new ones directly from CH. Only cost $10 and it was as good as new.

very cool

found one $93 free shipping

i do have rudder peds from ch just need to find a way to keep them from sliding on the floor when using rudders

What he said :icon_lol: I've had mine six years no problems yet. I think their six lever/ 12 button quadrant is a must, especially if you fly a lot of twins or four engine A/C.

On your pedals, if you have carpet like I do, I just nailed a 3/4" piece of flat wood behind them. Cut a little V notch where the wires come out of the base.

From what I have gleaned over the years, the CH Yoke is the best in the affordable range of peripherals i.e. better than the Saitek one. This is balanced by reviews which place the Saitek pedals ahead of the CH ones.
Personally don't know about pedals but I do have the CH yoke and it is very good and sturdy. I don't know how these folks above me managed to break bits off of it. :wiggle:

if you can try to get the new CH yoke..the eclpse,,,it has two rollers on it for trim..makes a HUGE differance right there

I have had the Eclipse for two months.....previously I used the older CH yoke, although it was borrowed and I did not own it.

I do not have the luxury of using rudder pedals in my office set up, so the "flappy paddles" astride the yoke are much appreciated, and work quite well. The two axis Trim is also a BIG bonus. It also offers more configuration options....if you can ever figure the software out. I did that, then realized I'd never remember all the options I programmed in (for singles, twins...etc) and so just defaulted back to the FS configuration tool.

Mine also came bundled with some neat software, including the Wellington and "Around the World in 80 Flights" featuring a Lockheed Electra. I was going around the world, but got stuck in Spain, where my virtual self is hanging out on the Costa Blanco drinking too much.

The biggest purchase I've ever made Flight Sim wise. I'm quite pleased with it, although I still have my Saitek Joystick for buzzing around in helicopters. You can look around but I think Amazon will probably have the best price for this Yoke at about $140 U.S.

My opinion, much improved over earlier CH yoke, but you pay for it.

Here's how I manage it: I fall over a lot. :redf: I . can't count all of the stuff I've busted, up to and including body parts. Talk to my prosthetic leg about it. I can't get it to give me a straight :banghead:

I have learned how to fly helicopters quite well with a yoke as I am often too lazy to switch out to my joystick. :icon_lol:

I know quite a few guys that use the CH yoke. About the only bad thing I've heard about em is with the old gameport-versions that wouldn't mix-n-match with other USB controllers very well. Don't really need to worry about that anymore these days though. :)

Personally, I went Saitek when I built my sim-pit desk. I just prefer the feel of the Saitek yoke and I like the detached throttle quadrant instead of the levers on top of the yoke.
My setup is yoke, pedals, and one extra throttle quadrant (for six levers total).

My CH Eclipse yoke arrived just the other day and I'm really impressed...............

however, I have to unplug and re-plug it in (USB) every day for it to work :isadizzy:.

Has anyone else encountered this problem ???

Yep,

It's not the Yokes problem, but your OS. Likely the power management feature is turning the USB ports off.

In Win 7 I found that it was best to disable the power management feature on each USB Root Hub. To do that, go to Control Panel, Device Manager, open Universal Serial Hub Controllers (they should all expand), then right click on each. There will be a power management tab -- un-check the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

See if that does it....if not, go into your Power Management Plan (also in control panel), and create one with "High Performance Settings"....also, never let that sucker go to sleep or turn off the display (do it yourself...it's good exercise...the weight will just fall off). This should most likely correct this issue. Power management has its utility when you have a notebook, but doesn't particularly apply to a desktop.

Sometimes (usually) going green sucks and serves no valid purpose. If you have an ups on the system (like you should), it's the ups consuming the power, not the PC. Configure that to save the planet (like the planet cares).

Good news! Madcatz has introduced some new gear. You can now get a Cessna style yoke, pedals, and a free-standing Cessna trim wheel!

I am a former user of the CH yoke in the original poster's picture. I always liked it, but I knocked it one time and lost the use of part of the hat switch. I also was hoping for more accuracy in the throttle, prop, mix controls. I finally sold the whole kit along with my old flight sim computer and CH pedals.

I bought the Saitek yoke which is just great, but it too has some things I don't like. I cannot use the USB hub in the back because I never found the right power supply for it. I bought an external hub to run all the Saitek panels, but I don't think I have USB 2.0 because I can only use one panel unit at a time.... But the yoke feels awesome. I don't like the center detent, but I learned to ignore it. It is a much more accurate system than the old CH yoke. I haven't tried the new CH yoke with paddles, but I have heard nothing but good things.

Hope all this helps.

Thanks for the input TeaSea.............I owe ya a cold one :icon29:

The hub controller plan didn't work, so I'll try the "High Performance" option.
I'm also switching to a USB port on the front rather than the rear............now I can just reach down to re-plug rather than getting on my hands and knees with a flashlight..........

I hope it fixes your problem. It seems to have taken care of mine....

In any case, it is not the yoke itself.
