I'm running FSX deluxe SP2 in Vista.I installed the scenery bgl.'s using AdditPro for FSX
into ...Flight Simulator X/Scenery and the textures into ...Flight Simulator X/Scenery/Textures but the carrier is flat black,no textures.What did I do wrong?There is no "read me" file in the zip but I thought I read somewhere that this was the correct install.I can tell that the bgl file changed but the textures aren't there.Any help will be greatly appreciated,thanx!

which carrier download?

the static or the moving one?
 
unclegreg, check in the folder you installed the downloaded textures to, see if you have a folder named textures in there, I think if yes this is why you have no textures FSX will be looking for individual named textures not a folder.

If you do have a texture folder there copy paste maybe 2 textures out of that folder, make a note of which textures you copy and drop the copies into the texture folder with the multitude of textures already there, restart FSX and see what you get on that carrier hopefully some textures.

Where did you get KFSO Carrier.zip ???? it may be Addon scenery might be a better place to install it.

My interpretation of the problem
 
I see one boo boo...Flight simulator x/scenery/texture is not correct. In fact, if I were doing the install, I would completely remove all the files, and install them to

Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/Scenery

and

Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/Texture.
 
I would go for Addon scenery too but would like to see the download first it may be it can be installed as a normal scenery and not split, much easier to manipulate
 
Create a folder on your desk top with the name of the scenery, inside your new folder create two sub folders named scenery and texture.

copy the bgl file into the scenery folder and the textures to the texture folder.
Copy your new main folder and go to your FSX root directory and copy the folder into the addon scenery folder.

Start FSX and goto the settings option on the start page and select scenery library and use the add scenery option and direct it to addon scenery and your new folder you have made single clck the folder so that it shows in the dialog box and then ok and it will now appear in you scenery menu click ok and yoy data base will update when you start a flight your scenery should now have its correct textures.
 
A big thanx to Jeansy,Rich,Astoroth and Medic.I reinstalled the carrier in Addon Scenery and it's beautiful.One flight from KSFO to the deck in the Yak-38 showed me your advice was right!Rich,this zip file can be found here under FSX Scenery-page 2.It really makes the static carrier more interesting.Thanx,you guys,you've made my day.

Glad your problem is solved, I learned the hard way on how to isnstall scenery and how you can can totaly muck up your scenry files and configeration and after having to do a clean install of fsx one learns pretty quick.

unless it is ai scenery always use the addon scenery folder to install scenery and always back up your scenery config it saves a lot of heart ache.
