Ted Smith's Aerostar now burns kerosene

I've always liked the Aerostar... another wonderful Ted Smith design (A-20, A-26, Aero Commanders) and now it's been updated to (ugh) burn kerosene

Nice plane. I flew the prop version many years ago ('77-'78) and loved it.

Turboprops would work better visually, IMO; those dangling pods really break up the clean lines of the Aerostar. But by the same token you sure can't argue with the numbers it seems to be turning in...

PS. At least it's not one of those gawdawful Volpar trike Beech 18's with the turbo conversion; those things just wanna make me cry - like putting Maria Callas through an autotuner

From head-on it kinda looks like a cabinized Me.262, or the same done to an Arado 234...?
Seems to go like hell though.....

Mike Stone did one for FS2004, but with the engine pods on the rear fuse.
