Q. for those who fly my planes...

I just spent well over an hour doing some serious testing to see if I could narrow down my issues. I started by updating my drivers to the latest Nvidia release (280.26) and then I tested every single FSX aircraft and helicopter in my hangar.

I am seeing gauge glass on a large number of my true FSX aircraft (I didn't test port-overs obviously as they don't have 3D gauges) and several even have moving reflections on the gauge glass. The PT-19 however is still glass free.

I can only conclude that my system is OK after all as I am seeing both gauge glass and moving reflections on certain aircraft which means there must be an issue with the PT-19.

Tim do you know which of your FSX aircraft should have 3D gauge glass so that I can check those again? I only saw static glass on the 200D and moving reflections on the Zlin fuel gauge. I would hate to think that you had put a lot of effort into several aircraft and I am not seeing the benefits. If we can narrow down which work and which don't it may help you to find a solution.

i'm wondering if Mr.Piglet did what the rest of us devs have done so many times before and just forgotten a setting in the textures material slot?

But why then would some people see reflections/glass on the PT-19 and others not, especially when using the same GPU cards. This is an odd issue for sure.

GTX 460 with the 275.33 drivers. I can't tell if I have reflections on the gauges but I do on the windshield.
I hope that helped. Thanks for the PT-19 ...........
:applause:

Just tried your PT-19. No reflections here on ATi 5870 with Catalyst 11.7 and latest drivers.

Can't say I'd noticed before as I was too busy flying which is a "reflection" on your great planes. :)

Or a miszpelllt nmae.

Or a wrong texture format?

I actually wanted to poke Bill O. with a reference to that little icon with the blue and white box, but it sadly has nothing to do with the result in FSX. :d

Tim,
Have 'moving' instrument reflections for sure on Grumman AA-5B and Meyers, not others (of yours).
See them in CR-1 Aeronca, Dino's T45C.
So I'm guessing not everyone (including MS default) has tried to do them.
Somtimes it's hard to tell for sure, whether you're lined up the right way with the sun, or if it's just cockpit shows passing over them.
I have a (first generation?) Pentium quad4 @ 2.40 ghz, 3 gig ram, Windows XP service pack 3, lowly NVidia GT430 with 1 gig ram. using NVinspector.
Hope this can help track things down.
The fact that some of yours show them for me and others not may be a change in some texture or modeling difference. Way over my head.
If they are supposed to be in all yours but not, does in no way detract from the enjoyment, am used to not having the moving reflections. Too much iciing on the cake is supposed to be bad for one.

On your PT19 I'm NOT seeing the reflections.

Win7 x64 Acceleration, nvidia GTX 570 with inspector profile.

This thread has proven most interesting...
Just installed the 280 series drivers, will test tonight.
Any plane after the Saab J-21 will have the gau-glass installed. Maybe some before the J-21, but I can't remember:sleep:

Hey Tim,

Just flew your AA5 and it had reflections, the PT-19 does not. Hope this helps.

LouP

PS. Thanks for all the aircraft :salute:

Just flown your PT19. No reflections on the gauges. Acceleration, GTX 470. Drivers are older. Display settings maxed. A few mods to the CFG. Frames set at 40.

I didn't have the AA5. So I downloaded it and tried. Same situation as with LouP. Reflections show up on AA5 gauges but not PT-19's or others I have.

Thanks Piglet! All your aircrafts are awesome.

Edit: I can not see any glass reflection. Only the mirror has one, but it is linked with other texture.
