That's just frickin rediculous. Gold plated faucets, gold plated seatbelt latches, give me a break. Wanna spend the money for a jet, fine. No need to go insane while doing it....

Bless 'im, couldn't he afford a widebodied jet? Roman Abramovich currently owns a Boeing 767, nicknamed "The Bandit" because of the rather interesting way they have painted the cockpit. (here). He was rumoured to have bought an A340 (and for a while the final A340-300 was earmarked for him, but it has now gone into airline service; obviously he isn't commenting, and neither are Airbus - rumour control now has him either looking at obtaining an A340-300 from Virgin, or purchasing an A380 instead. It's a tough life!! :icon_lol:

Pretty much 'par for the course' I'm afraid; as Andy says; just because they are wealthy doesn't mean they have taste..
'BizzJets' (slang) are now my full-time employment, we had one customer wanted to gold plate his aeroplane's wheels; wasn't the cost that put him off, it was projected time getting an STC mod through certification (thank goodness!!!)
