English to Spanish Translator Needed for Spanish Radio Calls

I have long been wanting to make a Spanish language radio pack, and since we are looking at updating some Spanish Civil War campaigns now seems like the right time to start recruiting a translator. The resulting product would have CFS2 pilots speaking Spanish whenever they fly for the Republic or Nationalistas. You could even make all countries speak Spanish if it helps you to enjoy the sim. This requires a little investment in time from you, but it is not at all difficult. Can you loosely translate English into Spanish? There are programs on the internet that can help you with this if you need them. Here is what we do: I supply you with the list of radio calls CFS2 uses and you translate them into Spanish. The translations by no means need to be exact. In fact, it is better if you change them a little to reflect the kind of things these pilots might actually have said. You just need to retain the general meaning. Then, you use your computer's recording device to make individual recordings of each call and e-mail them back to me. I will use a program called "SplitGVR" to put the recordings into the sim. The trick to making this work well is that you have act like a real pilot during the SCW. If you are not a good actor perhaps you can find someone that is. Now, I know what all the purists will say, "They probably didn't use radio calls in the SCW." Who cares? It is just for fun and may gain us a few fans in Spanish speaking countries. If interested, send me a pm with your e-mail address and I will send you more detailed instructions and a list of the English radio calls. Don't be shy! You know you want to hear yourself calling over the radio during the SCW.
 
I think I can do this. I speak with the castellano pronunciations, so that helps.

time ago I did some experiments with expressions and radio plays. I am old amateur radio and I see some problems to consider: first the accent or pronunciation, a latin american sounds very different from spanish as a north american very different from one english. And the second is that the sound recording must be through a radio transmitter with the characteristic distortion. ican make the recording but i am not spanish, i speak castellano of the river plate, ( i think that is beter understanding than spanish , dont u think Max and gaucho?) but not fidelity to spain language.

If there are two of us, then as I mentioned in my PM, maybe you can come up with radio calls from each side, so to speak. I have no preference - this is all in the past, and for fun - so while my grandpa would turn is his grave, I'm happy to be a nasty nationalist infidel... :)

Another thought - I got this from flying the Third Wire SFP1 campaigns - it might make for higher immersion if during the mission brieging screens, you can replace the stock music with something more appropriate .... crackly old recordings of the rousing speeches by the likes of "La Pasionaria" or Franco himself. Maybe some traditional Spanish music recordings of the time, also suitably static-like.

Just ideas ...
