UPDATE

Dear all..... first of all THANK YOU SO MUCH for your purchases and wonderful kind comments. I am really happy this particular aircraft is such a success right from the start. I expected it, but one always has to wait and see.

Now, due to some circumstances, the final test of the installer was only done by MYSELF... and I made an error. (Thanks for 'Chris' for finding it and pointing me in the right direction).

What happened in the last minute is that I changed a variable in the installer software, and that now results in the Desktop Icon pointing to the manual having the WRONG PATH NAME in it.

The manual IS included, and you can find it in the FSAddon\Fieseler-Storch\Manuals folder inside your FSX installation.

My sincere apologies for this goof.

As for the other issues:
I will ask Simon to look at the sound.
I have asked him to send me the 'original' paint with the swastika tail (he already promised me that)
I will change the installer
I will ask him to use dds textures in future

Live and learn...... :)

Last but not least:
The DVD Version will be out end of September
We'll have a 'special' planned early next year with the Lysander and Storch bundled, including scenery
Storch missions should be available (free to customers) end of this year!

I have managed to get this far. The paint kit is actually quite good compared to some but it would be useful if it could be supplied with a sparate layer for the weathering and detailing.

Looking forward to it. Still no word from Simon, I guess he'll log in on Saturday again. I believe he has to travel to get to an Internet connection.

Unable to teach you that , don´t know how to do that François, beeing just a mere, simple, probable customer with an opinion, not wanting to make a fuss about this subject.

When I buy from Classic Hangars, namely the FW-190, Mathias provided at the same time a link (Italian?)to get the "swastikas". Really no nazi here, but I am for true historical paints. One is already in this site, with the swastika and visible even in German. I know SOH is not a german based site and not selling, don´t know about your business. Don´t know, not intending to know all law articles about nazi restrictions in Germany, it was just a very simple statement. Will buy the Fieseler when I have acess to real historical skins. Complete. Or not...please let me know when available.

Don't worry, I wasn't offended in any way..... it's just that we cannot put swastikas on pictures/articles on anything that gets displayed in Germany.

Now, if I were based in the US or China I couldn't care less of course. But I am at some 100 km of their border and lawyers ... LOL !

I'll make it available as soon as I can, but contact with Simon is never easy. My hands are tied currently ;-)

More news when I have it :)

Well, I don't mind. But I will also publish the original as soon as I get it.
I think that's ONLY for the FoF model though.
 
Okay. I'll keep you posted. I'll be traveling Friday, back on-line on Saturday, all things going as planned. Maybe I hear from Simon then too.
 
For those of us who favor historical authenticity but have some personal discomfort with swastikas, maybe one of our talented repainters could take on the captured Storchs (Storchen?) such as those flown by Carl Spaatz and Harry Broadhurst. I haven't found great references yet, but this page shows skins for both that were done for IL-2. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image. There's also a diecast manufacturer called Falcon Models that has 1/72 versions of both due out early next year. So there ought to be reference material available. Any volunteers?
 
For those of us who still use 2D panels, there is an excellent one for this great plane at Flightsim. Do a library search for "fi156mpa.zip" and "1928gau.zip". Replace this panel's VC section with the one that came with the Storch and your flying.

There are also some excellent paint schemes depicted in Squadron/Signal Publications book on the Storch that is shown in the 'books section' on our website (in the Amazon shop).
