blurry hud

Hi, yet another glitch that CFS3 has produced...

All my HUD gauges and cockpit gauges have gone blurry, as if out of focus. Also, my aircraft textures have become highly pixelated. It’s hard to see in these screenies, but in game it is incredibly offensive to the eye! This seems to have happened overnight and hasn't just affected ETO, but MAW and stock CFS3, without me touching either of them!

If anyone has any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated

Try running cfs3config.exe in the main folder. Click on file, then click "change display options". You can select any screen resolution your video card will allow from the drop down list.

I am operating on 1400 x 900, which is as high as my monitor goes

everything else, scenery vehicles etc is fine, it is just aircraft textures and gauges that are blurry/pixilated

Hi cjcz7,
There was once an upload called "blurry gauges fix". IIRC it was just a modified viewui.xml file. You might be able to find it here in the archives. Also some of the config.exe settings would have an influence. What do you think got changed? (ie. caused the onset of blurriness)

I selected 'default setting' in CFS3 config to reset everything, but I still get pixelated aircraft textures.
The blurry gauges fix seems to have fixed most of my cockpit and HUD gauges (for some reason the attitude indicator, fuel gauges and G - meters remains affected).

possible reasons;
a - take more water with it :icon29:

b - it's an age thing, time to wear glasses!

c - there is a setting to do with activating 2048 textures, it's on the GC pages at Reg's hangar - http://www.regshanger.com/Groundcrew/homepage/Garage/Ground Crew Design Garage.php

Might be worth a look?

d - dodgy graphics card? Mine definately started doing odd things like this a few months ago and it's getting worse. As well as blurrs and pixelations I get fragmented models and a very dark blue sky occasionally. Am looking at a new one.

Hmm, A + B sound plausible!

I hope it’s not my graphics card as my PC is only about a year old, however I have noticed call of duty 4 (I know! - CoD is the work of the devil:angryfir: compared to flight simulation!) Has gone a bit fuzzy

Im trying to activate 2048 textures with my fingers crossed!

another venue to try , i use this and is wow wee factor for me

i added in this for assets,,,,,and did the fix up in config ...

High-end PC visuals settings for ETO Expansion

Download - eto-perf_visuals_32bit.zip http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/#download

and then the new addon ,,,,,i also add in

mesh builder budgets.xml
A file to smooth out the terrain mesh and make it render a bit more realistically.

Inspired by the MAX mesh builder budgets effort of 2004. My file is an attempt to exploit advances in computer power since then.
