Shade is released !

Don´t know if it has something to do, but my credit card refused the buy here in Brazil too. (Yes, it´s an international card with funds...) :kilroy:

Fast easy hassle free purchase, only 10 bucks, 3mb download, ZERO fps hit, works with ENB beautifully, too easy!

Up and running withing seconds of purchase, idiot proof configuration, I did not even read the manual :)

Thanks Steve!

well, considering that flightsim lost my original account information and i had to create a new account, i'd say something is snafu on their end..
::sigh::

Me too, assuming that the original FSX shaders could be backed up somehow before burning. It'd be nice to have one less program to start before FSX.
Wait, so it is shader based? After reading the manual, I got the impression that it was modifying fsx.exe.

Hey Guys

Not sure whats going on with the "US do not honor" payment thing??? i'll fire adrian and email and see if he has any clue???

Pam i just got your mail and am replying now so check it when you read this :)

& Again some great shots posted here :) i knew that my slack attemps at capturing the change that shade can bring to FSX would soon be eclipsed by all you screenshot crazy guys hehe,maybe i should run a screenshot competition

@TimHarris

Many thanks for your kind words :) i really glad to see the effort i put into the flow of the GUI worked and that someone (even though your a dev do you still count as a normal person hehe) could just jump right in and get going with it,i've again got to thank mark/redline for pointing out when i started to overwork the GUI during testing

I'll see about getting a set and forget option added this weekend either as an update or a small exe that will burn in your last loaded presets

btw I'll check back later and do a proper read of this thread

Cheers
steve

Yes, Around 'gooses bluff', about 95nm west of Alice Springs, probably some of the most stunning folded strata you will ever see!

YBAS? while I cannot speak of dates/details, I can say the beta version I have of Alice is stunning :)

@Steve, yes please! a set-n-forget option would be great

if its shader based , how does it work with ATI shader 3 fix from Jesus Bojote ? any ati users care to comment on this ?

Hey guys

Many thanks for the kind words :) im really glad its been so well received & that ppl "get" how to use it without to much confusion (i have yet to check reaction on other sites/forums yet though! as i came here first because you guys are pretty cool about stuff and tell it like it is)

As requested ive built a small GUI that will allow you to backup/restore the current FSX light values aswell & set and forget/burn-in your Current Shade GUI values

Linky & info is in THIS Shade blog post

I have a little bit of code separation atm as the Shade 1.0 code is on my laptop which out of reach for a day or 2 but as soon as i get back to it i'll intergrate the burn-in feature to the main GUI and add some day cycle file saves so ppl can explore setting up 10 diffrent days of lighting a little easier) and get a 1.01 update out

Ive spoken with Adrian and he says if anyone has any payment problems they'll need to contact Flightsimstore to resolve them they are nothing todo with myself,i havent the foggist as to why it might be blocked for sale in the US ?????

@vora

The only issue i found with testing Shade with the DX10 preview of FSX is that all the custom lighting Values we set seem to be much brighter/intense than when rendered via DX9 pipe this means that you might need to go in & tweak some of the presets a little more than ppl on DX9,so much like Aces i'll say it works but you might have to tune it to your system a little bit

I'll be knocking up a cut down demo over the next week so ppl can give it a run out with a few presets to see if they like it,i did want to get that ready to go with the main release but if i kept hangging i dout any of it wouldnt have ever seen the light of day this atleast having Shade out there gives me a kick in the ass to get the rest sorted out ;)

Thanks & Again some fantastic Screenshots here (im defo going to see about a screenshot comp)

Well it is and it is'nt Shader Base (despite the name Shade) and as Bojote SM3.0 update still parses the same values for its lighting tones as the normal SM 1.1/2.0 code does the end result is just the same

btw im not beginning to realise just how fraggmented the FSX communites End User FSX install really is !

I'll make sure i add this info to the blog and the 1.1 manual

Cheers

My examples. Just short test. I think its good idea to create in Programm some themes like f.ex. in REX ?
Many options for tests, and GUI is a little difficult to know from the first time (must read manual).

I wasn't too impressed by the default pre-set configuration (too dark and moody), but choosing one of the pre-sets, called winter chill,
Where Did You find it ?

Where Did You find it ?

Press the load Preset button to in the main shade GUI for a list of about 13 presets
you can load/tweak

I found setting up presets a bit hit or miss tones wise TOH, some things that looked great for me looked overly dark for other testers and getting there tweaked versions back and then loaded on my system they then seemed washed out/dull,it just goes to show how different ppls systems really are

Im going to have a look at adding some FS9 tone presets this weekend (if i can pull there values from FS9) as i've seen a few posts before now from ppl wishing there fsx lighting was like that of FS9

If anyone has any tweaked presets they like to share plz either mail them tome or add them as attachments and i'll host them at the shade blog
