Good morning,
I wanted to inform you that I have completed the hand-editing of my missions, and have placed revised versions of these campaigns and missions on my site, and at SOH. I also will provide Tango Romeo with a list of packages I want removed from Lindsay's site so that I can put the new packages there as well.
These modifications are based on the discussion we had about flying as a wingman rather than as the lead pilot. For the bomber missions, it works exceptionally well...you don't really order a He-111 to peel off and attack anyway, so having the wingmen not respond to your commands is inconsequential, plus the AI attack the target as directed, giving you the option of attacking secondary targets if your primary is destroyed. The Stuka campaign coming for the Battle of Britain (as well as the one already released for the Battle of France) benefits enormously from this.
For fighter-bomber missions, this is a bit trickier, but the AI attack the target and do not loiter over it, so that also benefits your chances for mission success. However, if you do not like these modifications, you can open up the mission in mission builder, save it under a different name, and the hand-editing will be undone, and you will fly as the lead pilot once again.
I did not do this for any missions involving fighter sweeps, bomber escorts, or intercepts. Some campaigns were heavily modified, such as "Heinkels," but the Battle of Britain only had two missions altered, so it depends on the premise and goals.
The following campaigns were modified...
Battle of Britain (RAF)
Battle of France (RAF)
Battle of France (Stuka)
Battle for Europe
Operation Frantic
Royal Australian Air Force
Papua New Guinea
Dutch East Indies
Mosquito Squadron
Royal Canadian Air Force
Bardufoss Hurricanes
Fall Weiss and Poland
Focke-Wulf Fw-190 Dora
Tirpitz missions
Operation Juggler
Operation Tidal Wave
A Bridge at Remagen
Hellas!
Heinkels!
Malta Spitfire
Dora and Pfeil and Spitfire
BFE - The Regensburg raid
Battle of the Bulge
Kondors!
486th Fighter Squadron - Version II
Corpo Aereo Italiano
Mustang Vs Fw-190
Battle of the Somme
These campaigns were NOT modified
Gladiators!
56th Fighter Group
357th Fighter Group
Messerschmitt Me-262
JV 44 - Galland's Circus
This was also an important breakthrough for the full Tuskegee Airmen campaign, because about one-third of the 104-mission campaign is based on ground-attack missions, and for the Fleet Air Arm campaign I am still working on.
Enjoy!
