Anyone here into restoring early Ford Mustangs?

Then this bit of news oughta brighten your day...

N.

Interesting, I bought a new 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang Sedan, not the fastback with four barrel carb and four on the floor, with trade in of a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle price was around $2200.00 late April of 1964. Delivery was almost two months waiting time. Late July is when I went to the dealer to pick up the new Mustang. Traded in the Mustang in 1970 for a 1969 Plymouth station wagon when second child was due. Looked at prices of restored 1964 1/2 Ford Mustangs and the price is out of my budget! :frown: Would be neat if in 2014 the original body sedan Ford Mustang meeting current emissions standards would be sold by Ford.

I don't think emissions standards would be the problem; but safety standards - air bags would have to be installed, front, side, and rear end collision standards; shoulder belts just to name a few.
