Just a reminder ,to not forget what Nov. 11th is all about.If it wasn't for our Army, Coast Guard,Navy, Marines,and Air Force ,we all might be speaking a differnt languge or not speaking at all. Although I was Army, God bless em all ,I just wish I could have done more.
So don't forget to thank a vet

Your compleatly right lets not forget our Merchant Marine,getting supplys to our troops thrugh sub invested waters under the worst conditions, and they also did some damge to those subs. Sorry to those I forgot, thanks for reminding me.

Sorry, but Nov. 11th in my country (The Netherlands) is called "St-Maarten". And has nothing to do with veterans.

Since I'm never too old to learn about other cultures: what's this about ?

Each country seems to have their own days for remembering vets, here in the UK we use the time and date of the ending of the first world war .. 11th hour of 11th day of the 11th month. With main rememberance ceremonys being held the following sunday normanly.

Rob, we have two days of remembrance in the States. On Veterans Day we honor the veterans, specifically the living veterans.

We also have Memorial Day, when we pay homage to those who went before us.
