VFR Reviews - The FS-Cast B-17G Flying Fortress

How did you create the formations? I have the plane and sure would like a formation flight. Best regards, Bob.

Well, no. Have you ever tried to hit binary code inside your computer with a big stick? :costumes:

I keep looking at getting both B-17s. I have the A2A but as has been said, they seem complimentary, rather than in direct competition. Hmm...

I agree with Ian! My comment was directed more towards those who always feel the need to pit one developers creation with another. My attempt was to get people to open their minds and realize that there are other great planes that havent' been made by A2A. Variety is the spice of live.....or so they say?:icon_lol:

My comment was based upon the fact that they both have different design philosophies and, as such, feature lists. Unlike many people, I accept that designing and building things is a trade-off between a lot of different, competing, priorities. Saying these two are the same and directly competing is a bit like saying that a Ford Focus "Value" and a Ford Focus "Sport" are in direct competition. They're not - they're the same car, but have different priorities. The difference is that while I can't afford two Focii, two B-17s may well be possible when I get paid (although there's so much else I want too... waaargh!)

Hi Bone. OK, thanks. It says only six planes can follow. How did you get all those others in formation? Best regards, Bob.

I used FSrecorder to record the first formation, then flew with a formation in the recorded formation while recording again, and then again. I had 21 recorded planes plus my current user flight...it got a little crowded, but my FPS's were still up around 35 with all of those planes.

I have since built a WW II bomber "combat box" formation for a little more realistic experience, and you can get a download called FlakEffect from any number of sights. The contrails of all those planes at FL250 will send a chill up your spine.
