Orbx expands to UK

to be honest i wish they'd do island instead of the UK. England, Wales, sorta scotland are pretty well covered scenery wise, yet ROI has nothing at all really :frown:

Just read through the thread and came across the following post by John:

Ireland is not part of GB but will be the region developed immediately after GB NIR, which makes sense of course

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:icon_lol:

THANK YOU!

Given my huge RAF fleet, I would be flying there exclusively, if it weren't for the total lack of good scenery coverage up until now.

Excellent news.

I'll second that Roger, can't wait something to look forward to and lift the gloom of what looks like being a miserable Winter :jump::icon_lol::jump:.

Don't hold your breath, though... Holger's region list is already quite long. NCA, NEM, NZNI, SCA, SRM
In 2011 there were only NRM and NZSI (still to come).

They also mentioned that we shouldn't expect previews until mid 2012 and a first release at the end of 2012. Of course, I can only imagine what they will be doing then, as the vegetation they've developed for NZ's south island, in the preview shots, is looking amazing.

Maybe we'll be able to get an Orbx or FTX quality WW2 airfield or two to fly our warbirds out of; I mean how they actually were in WW2, not like the current Duxford release, as amazing as it is.

Very unlikely, they make airports from which they have tons of photos, and unfortunately they're not into military stuff.

On another news Holger has revealed that he is also planning on an Alaska/Yukon region in his post here. A big region since he uses Anchorage and Whitehorse in the same sentence (don't we have a member from Whitehorse here?). If it's really going from Kemai Peninsular to Dease Lake, BC it's even going to be damned huge.

I didn't mean they would do it, I just meant of their quality, hence the "like" and not "from." But I don't see why some of the freeware FTX developers might not do one or two. Hell, I'll guess I'll have to learn to make airports, because one or another, I will have a WW2 airfield to fly in and out of with my warbirds in Orbx England.
