Just wondering if any one can give me some pointers on getting this helicopter started. I've tried following the check list but it will not start. I do not get any indications that the main rotors are spinning at all.

Have you tried loading a default FSX plane, then change to the ND Huey, then move throttle up and down? I have to reload the ND Huey two times to start the sim with the engine not-running (and helo AP enabled).

Radios

I was able to get the helicopter started by using Ctrl+Shift+F4. Any one able to get the radios to work?

The radios work, but not with the atc autotune. You have to manually tune the radio to contact things. It is somewhat annoying.

if you huyd still looking for the startup help

1 year later.....

So I have a startup procedure here, if no one has been able to start her up, AS you notices Nemeth is adding some realism in their choppers. This would be a good idea to let you know, as you will learn to fire up the huey, you will find out that 90% of the choppers in FSX do a "hot start" hehehee which is bad. SO first off chek your fuel, check battery is on, fuel flow switch is on. then look at the your throttle stick, turn that thing under where it says "cut off" towards you all the way fully so we wont get a hot start. then add about 35% throttle. Last but not least check to see if the main generator is on, make sure the Main GEN is set to start. So now head back to the throttle stick and look for a red push switch it has written on it "starter" in white letters' give that push and your engine should whine up slowly. AS the engine whines up, slowly reduce throttle but hold the ROTOR engine at 35 to get the systems warmed up while you check the rest is all ok. when ready for flight, just reduce the throttle what ever is left, hold at that postion for 10 seconds. Remember how at the beggining we mentiong the that thing under the "Cutoff" now it's time to twist it away from you so we can get the full flow going, and then feel free to take off

Beins this topic was woke up again, the start-up procedure was the reason I never bought the Nemeth Huey. What's mentioned above is more than I care to mess with. I don't know how many topics or comments I read after release referring to this. I don't do systems or procedure starts.

If they don't start every time when I hit Ctrl+E, I move on. The K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Stupid = Me :salute:) method is all I need.

Now, if they would do an update that incorporates a hassle free start-up/shut-down, I'd buy it.

I just wish real life Heli's would have the K.I.S.S system:jump: but I seee this from your angle OleBoy. It's like a slice of cake you wanna dig into it right away, especially if it's one of my mother's home made Apple cake with nuts, 75% real apple slices, the foamy cream, Jam, the very light layer of chocloate on the top and not to mention the syrup soaked base for the real deal

I don't know if this could help with nemeth Huey, if not shoot me.
After installing acceleration pack i wasn't able to start my Cera 412 anymore.
Their forum was full of requests about this.
Now, in my hands, the only way to start it is, before applying the normal starting sequence, to load the deafult baron, turn on both two fuel pumps, then switch aircraft to the heli, and finally start it.
Maybe it could help.

Question...

I've read the responses to this post and have a question for those of you who purchased this aircraft. Question: For someone who just likes to get into an aircraft with everything already running, does this one fit that requirement? It looks like it has several models and some very decent paint schemes.

I'm sure there may be other Hueys available but, the only other one I've found is Aerosofts. It did not appear to have as many repaints "out of the box."

Thanks...

If you want a helicopter that you can start with CTRL+E, this isn't the helicopter for you. It took me a while to figure out how to get this helicopter started. Also you have to hand tune the radios to get them to work, no pop up panel to tune the radio's or an auto pilot.

Thanks airtj, your response certainly helped me decide whether or not to purchase this aircraft.
