Flaps Damage

I have a question I should know the answer to but I don't. CFS3 has a damage model for landing gear deployment above maximum design speeds and provides the warning acordingly. I don't recall ever seeing any warnings for flap damage yet there is a maximum speed called out in the aircraft.cfg file under the "Flaps" tag. My FM's are all modified, I wondered if I inadvertantly disabled the feature or there isn't one to begin with.

Yes ,I sometimes get the warning for flaps damages, when incoming to fast.

How does one correct the warning for the landing gear damage; I often get this warning right after getting airborne.

Thanks

Either you've been extremely lucky and only flown aircraft that have their flaps' damage speed higher than their maximum deployment speed (most are like this but not all) which prevents flap damage during landing, or you have the "Aircraft stress causes damage" box unchecked in the realism options. Those are the only two that spring to mind.

BTW can you tell me of a specific aircraft which has flap damage at low speeds? I want to look at the .air file to see what the settings are. I'm aware of the settings below in the .cfg file which I have lowered to get the damage warning but no luck. I have not checked my "Aircraft stress causes damage box" but I think it's on because I am getting warnings of landing gear damage when deployed at high speeds. I'm thinking my constant modifying may have set something too high in most of my aircraft .air files.

damaging-speed=152.1
blowout-speed=156.4

One has to meet the expectations. :p:

But on the subject of the gear damage, it's not linked to the aircraft stress damage, it also happens with the box unchecked. Your best bet is to check that box and begin to experiment - and you'll also get G stress to add to the fun. There's nothing in the .air file that makes a difference for the flap damage speeds, it's all in those lines you just described. Flaps may also have deployment speeds specified for each step, they won't lower above those speeds. This function also needs the box checked to work.

flaps-position.0 = 0
flaps-position.1 = 27, 169
flaps-position.2 = 55, 161

One example of an aircraft that can have its flaps damaged quite easily is Ted's new He 177, the damaging speed is 172 mph (or is it knots, I can't remember which the Aircraft.cfg uses) but you can lower them at 195 mph.

You were right the box was unchecked..........must have done that some time ago and just forgot about it. Thanks for the tip!
