Acceleration F-18 too plain, any tweaks out there?

I really love the F-18 and even more now that I have the TSS sound pack for it which brings it to life. But something really disappointing me about is is that it dose not have some payload options. I wish you could some payload options, fuel tanks only, missiles only or mixed. At the momment the F-18 feels bare, empty and plain. Does anyone know anything about any "tweaks" out there? Just image how solid it would look like you have reall power in your hands.

Here's a nice F18 rigged, so this would be with fuel tanks

Hi Gabe,

Visible / realistic payload isn't something you can simulate in the default FA-18. However, you could try the Mother of all tweaks on the F-18... The VRS Superbug

If it's a freeware update to the default FSX FA-18 you need then you won't do better than the superb 'Sludge Hornet' updates. This includes a whole refit of the FA-18 that gives a massive improvement within the boundaries of the default model.

Last, there's always the F/A -18D made by Captain Sim [please note it's in their appropriately named 'Fun Line Product'] lol. Say no more...

Did I mention the VRS Superbug?

Good luck with the tweaking!

Dave.

Cheers for the handy tools here guys, gonna see if I can add more "muscle" on this bird. Will post pictures if the surgery was successful :icon29:......hang on did you say Fun Line Product xD If only the Airforce would use thoes words in their recruitment adds as well

I really liked the Sludge Hornet, but it dose not have fuel tank attachments or any missiles :kilroy:

The VRS F-18 is one of the very best aircraft models out there.

For freeware, the only alternative is the FS9-format F-18 Super Hornet by FS-KBT. It has weapons, even though you can't fire them of course. The virtual cockpit is nowhere as nice as the default F-18 one, and nothing is clickable inside, but that's the only freeware SuperBug around.

There is not Much Better then the Superbug in FSX Thats the Only F18 I Use if your looking for a F18 Pick One up you can find it at Bestbuy or online :salute:

Slightly off topic but are there any RAAF repaints of the Sludge F-18?
As the Sludge Hornet is just a modified version of the default Acceleration Hornet, any repaint for the default Acceleration Hornet should also work on the Sludge Hornet.
