Can't install Sabre vs MiG

I am trying to install the old Sabre vs MiG mod for CFS2. It gets most of the way through the install and then stops and tells me it can't proceed and give me this error message: "Cannot open the following file: C:\Games\CFS2\Combat Clouds\Combat Clouds 2.$$A." Then it tells me I have to run the utility again to complete the installation which of course, I do and then get the same error. What is this file? I don't see it anywhere. How can I get around this error?

It's been a while, but I am fairly sure that this came up before and turned out to be either an XP thing or an Nvidia thing. Whichever it was, I don't think it could be got round.

The Combat Clouds thingy sets off some AV security programs running in the background, which leads to an installation block in the foreground operation. Even though it appears to be a safe program in its operation, apparently its code contains something that sends up a false positive red flag in current antivirus/malware circles. The best workaround is to reboot your computer to Safe Mode and try installing the S-v-M addon that way. It should complete, since security programs as a rule do not load in Safe Mode.

Hey man, a million thanks for this info. Not only did it cure the issue I had with installing SVM in CFS2, it also cured the issue I was having installing CFS3. So again, thanks a million. :salute: Cheers! :ernae:
