New Carenado Project Revealed CT182T Skylane G1000 for FSX

The Flight 1 model might represent the G1000 more accurately than Carenado is capable of matching, but they do so in a cartoony-looking $50 shell that, for me anyway, kills the realism that such extensive avionics bring to the table. Besides...standard G1000's are becoming dinosaurs, with the advent of the Perspective model of the G1000, which is what I fly IRL in a Cirrus SR-20. That being said, I feel as though a G1000 that is 50 to 75% operable and accurate in FSX, with an excellent visual model and FDE, is far paramount to a G1000 that is 100% accurate in a 'family-guy' skin...that costs an arm and a leg...just my opinion...

Well said Matt!

I also would like to know why there would be an issue with Cessna as someone has stated in the post earlier? If I'm not mistaken.....they've done many Cessnas in the past. I wonder since Carenado is not based in the USA how Cessna could do anything anyway?

Yep I also agree with you - well said.

I'm more than happy to see 'another' Cessna from Carenado.
Agreed, some of the more obscure versions would be excellent, but at least Carenado turn out aircraft that are not festooned with all manner of weaponry hanging off them.
:applause:

The last model I bought from Carenado was the FS9/X Mooney which was ok for its time. Theyve always done attractive looking models with basic functionality but in the past I thought their flight models were simplistic. That said I just acquired the Malibu and liked it so tried their A36 Beechcraft, which is just brilliant IMHO. The latest two show big improvements across the board, especially the FDE. And price is not horrendous. I probably wont buy the Cessna but the Kingair looks interesting.

I dont have the f1 t182t, wish i did, but I do have their Cessna Mustang. To this day, I think it is the best plane I have as far as detail, flight model and avionics. I think the exterior modelling is as good as it gets. If their 182 is of the same quality, I dont know how one could complain. However, the interior shots of the Carenado bird looks great. The upholstery and door panels alone make me want it.

This is totally stupid. If they wanted to do a G1000 plane, how about redoing their 206 and putting it in there?

I don't get it.

I'd take a redone 206 hands down, my most favourite in FS9 by a long shot

If this is going to be the next best thing then maybe...

I'll be purchasing it...and use the money that I will have saved by purchasing the Carenado model instead of the Flight1 model to buy Ant's Eaglet :jump:

You wil find that Carenado only model aircraft they have access to.
Since they are in Chile this will limit their choice on what is resident in Chile......a quick scan of GA types at Airliners.net would give an idea on what they haven't already modelled for FSX...so I'm betting it will be one of the following for their next model:

Cessna 303, 310Q, P210 (with a turboprop conversion), 172S (Garmin?), 414, 421 or maybe they may branch out to jets (Citation 1/11/CJ-1, X, VI)

Piper Navajo C/Cheftain/Navajo with Panther conversion, Cheyenne II, Super Cub, Tomahawk, Archer III, Comanche 250, Lance II

Beech King Air 100/200/300, E-55 Baron, Skipper

Mooney 231

Aviat Husky (would really like to see one of these)

Looks promising!http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php

Darn it!
I wasn't going to be interested in this at all, but after seeing the latest pics, now I am.
Geeeesh. :icon_lol:

Looks excellent. I am eagerly anticipating the carenado rendition of the g1000 in this aircraft, as I believe it will give is a small peek into the Cirrus Perspective they are working on....

...And, since the carenado visual models, and FDE's get better and better with each subsequent release, I hope that they are making similar strides with the avionics coding :jump:

This looks a lot better than the Flight1 offering. Let's see how the complete package turns out.
